"Stereo, Anyone?

The Unify is a 4-channel stereo mixer with selectable line or module level output and separate headphone output.

The4 input channels are module level with audio-taper level pots and constant-power pan
pots. The output can be either line or module level, so this module can be an output mixer or
a utility mixer. The headphone output has a
separate level pot. There a clip LED to indicate
overloads.

Ample expansion capabilities have been designed into the module, and a series of expansion modules is planned.

The Unify uses high performance LM4562
amplifiers which have excellent noise and
distortion specs. One of the best amplifiers available today. The Unify also boasts sealed pots and enclosed jacks. No scratchy controls!

Features

Module-level inputs
Input level control on each channel
Constant-power pan on each channel
Separate left and right output jacks
Output level control
Front panel button for line/module level
Overload indication (clip LED)
Headphone output with separate control"

Circuit Abbey G8 - Trance gate evolution

Published on Oct 13, 2013 noisythang·18 videos

"Continued to tweak on the patch from the previous video. I think a bit less trancy, but what the heck. Now, the G8 is in trigger mode, driving 4ms PEG and Make Noise Maths, which control VCA Matrix. The G8 is also providing the timing pulses for the 4ms stuff. Overall rhythm from Oberkorn. Using the 4ms QPLFO for some of the PDO modulation - very interesting how these thing react to triggers instead of gates."

MMTA FALL SYNTHFEST Coming to Seattle on October 26!

Update: It was an awesome event as always! You'll find pics and videos of the event as they go up on the MMTA SYNTHFEST 2013 channel.  Some are already up and mine are yet to follow.  New posts of course will go up on the front page.  You can get to the channel via the link at the bottom of each post.  Note there was an earlier event this year so this post will mark the bottom of the last event.  Posts beneath that are from the prior event.

Heads up everyone! The MMTA SYNTHFEST is currently scheduled at Shoreline Community College in the Music Building (800) Saturday, October 26.  The event is Free!  Full details will follow in future posts. Until then mark your calendar and make arrangements as needed. This is not an event you will want to miss!

This year's previous Spring SYNTHFEST included the Synth Petting Zoo for people to check out and play with gear, a Tradeshow Room with local vendors & manufactures, a Presentation Room with lectures & performances, and a Jam Session room.  Last year we had a rare look into the history of Yamaha from Dave Bristow.  Mark Vail, author of Vintage Synthesizers, along with John Bowen and the Solaris, were also in attendance. For a full list of manufactures from that event, see this post.

Circuit Abbey Invy as Waveform Processor (Eurorack/Doepfer Modular Synth Demo)

Published on Aug 30, 2013 flx04·50 videos

"It occurred to me yesterday, that you can use the Invy's clipping behaviour to add and subtract waveforms in some really cool ways. After watching the video, try out mixing different waveforms at different frequencies for even more fun! If you have any questions or comments, please post them below :) Thanks for watching!

Filmed with a Canon EOS 550D (Rebel t2i) with Magic Lantern and a GoPro 1.

New Circuit Abbey G8 Clock Divider

via Circuit Abbey

"A Clock Divider: Small and Powerful

The G8 is a clock divider with 8 modes and 8 outputs.
The modes include:
Clock: 1 of 8 sequencer output, like the A-161
Cv: Same as above but with a CV input on the clock jack
Int: Divide by 2-9
Bin: Binary counter, 0-255
Even: divide by 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16
Odd: Divide by 3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17
Prime: Divide by 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19
Random: Output have a probability of 1/2 through 1/9

Mode switch selects the mode, and when held down
selects trigger mode where all outputs are triggers
instead of gates. Reset input is edge sensitive i.e.
resets on a rising edge. Trigger output provides a trigger
when the outputs change, useful in CV mode.

This 4HP module has a maximum 20mA current draw.
Module depth is 49mm."

Circuit Abbey Impulse Drive Waveshaper Eurorack Module

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
Perfect Circuit Audio (RSS)

"Harmonics galore! A wave multiplying signal processing module which produces thick CV-able harmonic fields.

The Impulse Drive crossfades any two input sources and drives three comparator engines that are then cross-modulated to create unheard of sonic palettes. Crossfading, along with each of the comparator engines are under full CV control for precise timbre navigation. Feed combinations of waves, control signals, or experimental sources such as drum machines into the Impulse Drive to generate swirling streams of alien landscapes!

You can crossfade between the two signal inputs manually or with a control voltage; the result will be then processed by three comparator units called GRID, each producing a pulse wave. The Bias parameter determines the switching threshold of the comparator and it can be set manually or with a voltage. Each GRID section modulates the next one thru a digital ring modulator and adds even more harmonics. The signals can be tapped at the various outputs.

The Impulse Drive has 3 sections of harmonic generation with CV control. Each section feeds into the next using Digital Ring Mod technology and produces increasingly complex harmonic fields.

The Impulse Drive can be run at LFO rates to produce gates at the outputs - allows for generating CV-able sequences.

Conceived and refined over a decade in the Circuit Abbey lab, the Impulse Drive will provide unique flavor to any studio.

Features

2 signal inputs (Injector)
1 Injector-Select CV input
3 CV inputs for the waveshaper units (Grid 1-3)
3 Outs
3 Exhaust Port Outs
MON output
Injector Select knob
Injector Level knob
Level and Bias knobs for each 3 grids
LED Indicators for each Out"

Circuit Abbey "Impulse Drive" : the Hidden VCA

Published on Mar 27, 2013 signalflowonline·12 videos

"In this video I demonstrate how, by using a negative envelope and bending the design of the Injector Select circuit, you get a VCA out of the Circuit Abbey 'Impulse Drive.' Also - when using it as a VCA with percussive elements, you can get some really weird gates and noise bursts."
