See the site's privacy policy for more info.

"This Circuit Bent Alesis HR-16 is one of the most classic circuit bent drum machines around. Not only is the HR-16 an amazing instrument on its own, adding the bends to the instrument only expands the entire sonic capabilities!

All the bends are routed to the toggle switch and momentary push-buttons. This unit also has a master pitch function that can be turned on with a flick of a switch. This unit is missing the volume slider cap and cannot be accessed via the front panel. Volume has been rerouted to a know of the from patch panel.

Disclaimer Circuit bent instruments can sometimes act a bit different in its functionality compared to the stock instrument. Routing to many bends can often glitch the instrument into a frozen state, now this does not happen all the time, but can happen in odd situations. Often the MIDI can start to act funny in certain cases, but all-in-all this instrument is extremely fun to play with and does create some insane percussion sounds."

Error Instruments Hacks the Behringer TD-3 - ER303 hackt 303 clone

video upload by errorinstruments paul tas

"We decided to hack the most famous and loved 303 designs by Tadao Kikumoto. In the 80s
40 years later Behringer makes a clone
We look at this circuit and we changing something and we add some chips
Inputs outputs.. we want to make it sound over the top if possible no limit. Most crunchy so we at and makes between an overdrive and a delay . We change the filter and we have an extra input in outfits for the effect that you can also use separated on other equipment if you want the demonstration. We only have 10 of them. If you are into Acid over-the-top crunchiness over-the-top delay this is your friend see demonstration movies"

Tomorrow Never Knows - Circuit Bent Beatles' cover - SMMP

video upload by SMMP

"Little cover of a classic yet obscure Beatles' tune, one of my favourites!

It's been recorded using only circuit bent instruments (apart from guitar break and vocals), listed at the very end of the video!

A nice FM Digital synthesiser to which I added an analog VCF which really enhances it to be used for pads, nice leads and even some cool basses.

There is also an LFO which controls the VCF allowing rhythmic patterns and pulsating pads!

It's great polyphony and the possibility of modify in real time some FM parameters make it a very versatile instrument, specially when paired with fx such as delay and reverb!

Zerosum Inertia - Cenotaph

video upload by NOISEBUG

https://www.noisebug.net/

"Alesis HR-16 (circuit bent) running through a @zerosum_inertia CENOTAPH.
Medium-Slow triangle LFO going to the CV input of the CENOTAPH. Drums dry on the right channel, CENOTAPH in the left channel.

The Cenotaph is device meant for processing modular level audio signals.

Line level or guitar level signals will work but need to be fed into a signal amplifier to get signal to modular levels before entering Cenotaph.

If low level signals are used the results will sound like a bit crusher and be less stable and predictable which sometimes sounds cool,

but overall it is recommended to stick with modular level signals like VCO waveforms straight out of the VCO.

The audio signal is fed into two 6CB6 pentodes then into a 4046 PLL and 4013 Divider.

Switchcraft 1/4” jacks and NOS military surplus tubes used.

Hand wired and through hole assembly, PCB manufacturing, enclosure drilling and metal work all done in USA.

For most stable results the left knob should be full clockwise/pointing to the right when third/right switch is in UP position. If center switch is in UP position then it doesn’t matter where left knob position is.

It is recommended to start with all 3 knobs in full clockwise position and all switches down.

Left knob controlls PLL level.

Left switch controls PLL behavior mode.

Center knob controls PLL frequency.

Center switch routes PLL INTO divider when up,

PLL and Divider are in parallel when center switch is down.

Right knob controls divider level.

Right switch selects divide down by 4 when down, divide by 2 when up.

Only use 12V DC Center positive + power source providing at least 1500 mA.

Use the power source that comes with Cenotaph."
