Torino Synth Meeting Set for May 28 and 29

"Today a very important news for the Torino Synth Meeting and for its sixth edition.

We have the official dates, the 2016 meeting will be held the last weekend of May, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29.

Thanks to the results obtained with the fifth edition, this year the meeting will last two days!

And this is only the first news concerning the sixth year in fact, given the demands of the public and exhibitors, this year the meeting will also host brands and manufacturers of:

Studio equipment
DJ equipment
Software and controllers
P. A. and backline
Lighting and stage
But also music-related companies and institutions such as:

Recording studios
Schools and academies
Last news (for now) is the location change.
For two days of music and music instruments, we selected BUNKER, historical independent cultural center run by 'Associazione Culturale Variante Bunker'

Bunker is a cultural independent space and place-active laboratory for testing a new precursor model of urban development, close to a major urban transformation of the city of Turin, which is "Variante 200”, by promoting in the same place creative ideas and public utilities functions. Born from the collaboration with the company owner Torino Quittengo, Bunker now is gered by the “Variante Bunker” Cultural Association together with “Variante Bunker Sport”. In their industrial spaces converted, both associations promote a mix of artistic and installative interventions linked to the scene of the international street art, urban gardening, sports, clubbing, experimentation and musical research.

"Workshop di Angelo Comino aka MOTOR - Strange Sound Machines ... oltre i soliti synth. Un' interessante chiacchierata sulla sintesi del suono e su metodi alternativi per produrre e manipolare il suono.

- THX: come è stato creato il suono (ricostruzione in SuperCollider)
- Glissando: come usare una vecchia pianola ... e qualche processore ... in stile Ligeti
- Una vera drum machine ed uno esoscheletro: Orchestra Meccanica Marinetti (MaxMSP patches)
- Parlare alla Luna (un progetto di A.Sciaraffa ... che coinvolge tra il resto un radiotelescopio e la luna per generare un eco)

Motor è un artista che vive la sua espressione artistica come una ricerca continua nei linguaggi della contemporaneità. Grazie alla sua profonda conoscenza delle materie scientifiche, nella sua opera quotidiana traspare quella tendenza al sincretismo che denota molta espressione contemporanea. Motor è cresciuto nell'underground torinese spaziando dal sound design alle sceneggiature, dalle installazioni alla produzione multimediale interattiva, dalle performance alle collaborazioni con il teatro sperimentale."

After last year's success which saw the participation of 6 professional exhibitors, numerous presenters and private collectors, 1 workshop, 2 concerts, 2 venues​and an increasing number of visitors,​the event dedicated to synthesizers and electronic musical instruments is back for the fifth edition and bigger than ever.

Strengthened by our experience accumulated in the previous years and by the positive feedback that we have received so far, our aim with this “Fifth” edition is to, through the help of the participants, create a meeting even richer in content both from the point of view of exhibition as well as debate and public discussion.

Considering the success of the fourth edition and its perfect synergy, this year's technical partner will once again be​DISCONET.IT

WHAT IS THE TORINO SYNTH MEETING?

TSM​started in 2011 from an idea of​Francesco Mulassano​(Ultrasonica.it, Noisecollective.net, Urbanspaceman, Space Aliens From Outer Space, Tacuma Orchestra) together with​Luca Torasso​(Sandblasting, Noisecollective.net, Rustblade Records).

The idea was to create a day of meeting and trading between collectors, musicians and anyone passionate for the world of synthesizers and electronic musical instruments in general.

An appointment where one can see and try rare and unusual instruments as well as buy, sell and trade.

A meeting point for those who share the same passion and an occasion to give a space to new artists through a series of concerts and performances.

Starting with the fourth edition, it's the ideal stage for companies in the sector. The event is in fact open to producers, importers and distributors of musical hardware and software. These participants, identified as​Pro Exhibitors,​will have an exhibition space dedicated to them and, upon request, a stage area for presenting their own products.
