"This is a Therapsid from Twisted Electrons which was sent to me to make a demonstration video (this is not that video) as there are very few videos on it and I love sid chips and c64's I'm like Bane except I was born into Sid pulse width modulation instead of darkness. I have had it for over a month now and have been working hard testing pretty much every day to make sure it does everything it is suppose to do and everything a c64 fan might expect it to do. Some issues are still present as of this video but are being worked on. It is open source and I suggest anyone considering one go and read the issues section on Twisted Electrons github to see what bugs remain and what future enhancements might be coming.

while this works as just a very nice retro sounding hands on synth for those that are not commodore die hards it can be sequenced multitimbrally as shown here and controlled with cc's. "Since the Twisted Electrons TherapSID firmware is now open source, I have implemented some enhancements to my unit, adding 'ASID' protocol support and performance controls, showcased here. ASID was originally developed as a way of sending Commodore 64 SID files over MIDI to be played back on the Elektron Sidstation.

First few minutes shows the features, then follows some full SID songs. This TherapSID is equipped with two 6581 SIDs, a bit panned to give a stereo effect.

"In 2022 I had the absolute pleasure of working with Love Hultén @hulten1000 An amazing independent Swedish artist who has specialised in giving his now iconic design to select gear. In our collaboration I chose to combine the MegaFM synth, the Blue Sky reverb and the Keystep 37 keyboard into one absolute dream synth. Here played in one take without any editing whatsoever.

I started Jamuary in January 2017, as a movement to gather us boopy music heads, and to motivate people to get used to the idea of showing their music in front of other people. It quickly grew out of proportions thanks to everybody joining in! Let's continue with the tradition, but don't burn yourself out in the process. Twisted Elektrons MEGAfm MKII Coming September 2022

"This updated version is identical in appearance and functionality but will include a pair of YM3438 chips instead of the YM2612. The YM3438 is a variant of the YM2612 that is identical in functionality and was featured in the Sega Megadrive II. The circuit layout has also been updated to grant access to the FM chips with minimal disassembly. Indeed the chips are now socketed (removable) and accessible by removing the bottom panel.

This allows you to install alternate FM chips (like the YM2612, modern alternatives or even custom sound chips). You can also mix different versions of FM chip as there are 2 slots that can be configured individually.

MEGAfm MKII features the same audio circuitry and analog distortion as the MKI, as a result both chips sound very similar inside of MEGAfm.

The firmware will work identically on both versions."
