Introducing Crazy Chain! New approach to daisy chaining

Gaz Williams

New Crazy Chain from myVolts. They are running a promo for the day: "Buy any Ripcord and get one free Crazy Chain, add code CRAZYVOLTS at checkout, code's good to midnight 22nd October." Link: https://myvolts.co.uk

"What is myVolts Crazy Chain?

Did you ever want to power a number of synths and pedals, but find that your existing daisy chain cable just didn't cut it? Wrong size connectors, wrong size polarity, unused connectors, unsuitable cable lengths can all be a hassle you don't need when you just want to make music.

Crazy Chain is a flexible, mix and match cable solution to let you power your gear just the way you want to. Choose tip: You choose which DC power tip size each Crazy Chain connector has, so you can plug, for example, a Korg Volca (1.7mm inner diameter / 4.7mm outer diameter) in the same chain as a Boss guitar pedal (2.1mm inner diameter / 5.5mm outer diameter). Mix and match tips to suit exactly your devices.

Change polarity: You can change polarity from positive to negative as you go along the chain, you can even change it back! Polarity change is identified by an orange DC input, so whenever power passes through this connection, it will change polarity. Make sure to check your instrument specification to ensure it receives the correct polarity. Chain devices: Crazy Chain lets you power only the devices you want to power, whether that's 3 devices or 12 devices. This means no more looking for extra connectors to suit your specific setup, and no more hanging dog-leg connectors adding noise into your audio.

The right lengths: Choose from 3 different cable lengths to suit your setups."

"Using #korg #littlebits #synth kit is a lot of fun, but we've made it more interesting.

Powering it via USB with #Ripcordusb and connecting a power meter in-line, you can see a visual of the waveform shape reflected in the current draw.

Two oscillators means you see frequency modulation in action!"

MickXer - myVolts.co.uk

Published on Sep 15, 2019 Micro Banshee

myVolts.co.uk

"The myVolts mickXer is a 5-way passive mixer with five stereo input channels and one stereo output channel, each with a 1/8" (3.5mm) connection. It gives a high-quality, balanced, noise-reduced output, suitable for recording or live setups.

With the mickXer, you can mix five stereo inputs down to one stereo output. You can, of course, just use just one, two, three or four of the inputs in any configuration that suits your setup.

Please note that the mickXer is not intended as a standalone device and should be connected to either a recorder or amplification device, such as an amp, speakers, or powered headphones.

mickXer works great with any music gear: Korg Volcas, Roland Boutiques, Teenage Engineering Pocket Operators and thousands more
mickXer contains noise filtering technology, removing irritating ground loop hums and other noises. It’s the perfect accessory if you experience any noise using the myVolts Korg Volca 5-way power splitter or myVolts Roland Boutique 5-way power splitter
mickXer is fully passive, so doesn’t need a power supply, or batteries
Microsuction feet let mickXer stick securely but impermanently to almost any surface, while allowing it to be moved and restuck to any surface without leaving any stickiness or residue behind.
Multiple mickXers can be daisy chained, so the possibilities for the ingenuitive desktop musician are limitless
mickXer will also work as an audio signal splitter, but do be aware that amplification is required to drive headphones
mickXer is fully safety and quality tested: it’s CE-certified, RoHS-certified, FCC-certified, EMC-tested
mickXer comes in two colours – Console Black or Go-Faster Red.

myVolts Ripcord - USB Power for Korg Volcas

via myVolts

"Ripcord turns 5V from a USB port into other voltages, like 9V and 12V, that gear needs, and liberates your creative process from batteries and wall sockets.

Ripcord can also protect against noise: the buzzes and hums caused by poorly-earthed mains electricity.
If you’re wondering which Ripcords you might need, and what devices it powers, we’ve got an extensive, constantly updated, Ripcord FAQ on our site that should answer any questions you have.

Any country, on stage, in the studio, outdoors: anywhere there’s a USB port – like your laptop, a phone charger, a USB power bank – you’re good to go.

Read on to find out about Ripcord, AND get 15% off your next myVolts order."

How to Power up to 5 x Roland Boutiques from one USB Plug

via myVolts

Use CSRBSP at checkout to get 3.00 GBP off either a Roland Boutiques splitter cable or a Roland Boutiques splitter cable plus PSU, it’s good till Friday 31st March 2017.

Details:

"Power up to 5 Roland Boutiques from just one USB plug!

This unique myVolts 5-way power splitter lets you power up to five Roland Boutiques at once, from one USB mains power plug.

It's compatible with all the Roland Boutiques in the range - including the JX-03, VP-03, TB-03, JP-08, JU-06, TR-09 and A-01.

Option '5-way splitter PLUS PSU' includes the 5-way splitter PLUS a myVolts 5V 2000mA USB power supply adaptor, to power from one to five Boutiques.

Option '5-way splitter only' includes only the 5-way splitter, you'll need to supply your own 5V USB power adaptor. Each Roland Boutique draws up to 400mA of current, so if you want to power 5, you need a USB power adaptor capable of delivering 2000mA - like the one we bundle with it.
