What is That Synth Worth?

Some good news on the eBay front.  eBay now appears to keep ended auction listings all the way back through 2011!  One question I commonly get is how much I think a given synth is worth.  The answer is it depends on condition, supply and demand, and who's looking, but the easiest thing to do is to see what it went for on eBay.  The problem until now was that eBay only kept ended listings up for 90 days.  Well, it appears they have now made listings available all the way back through 2011.  If you are curious what a given synth might fetch, search for it and the word auction on the top left here on MATRIXSYNTH and take a look at some listings.  Remember to sort by date when the results come up if you want to view posts in order.  You can also check out the condition items when for via the pics and descriptions.

Metasonix PT-2 Tube Synth - Extremly Rare:SN# 8 out of 13

"This is an extremely rare synthesizer and a serious collectors item. To my knowledge Eric only made 13 of these units and this is serial number 8. I've taken a pic of the Serial Number. I'm hoping this unit goes into a loving synth home where it will be appreciated and honored. This is a synth for the most elitist of synth collectors / geeks ( like me! ) 8-)

As far as I know, Eric personally assembled every PT2 by himself. And it shows, this thing is built like a tank. I've never seen a metal case this sturdy before...

And an FYI: You will need a CV converter for the PT-2. There is no MIDI. You will also probably need to calibrate the synth internally to get it to track to your CV converter.

The PT-2 is a very unusual synth, and is capable of creating some unique timbres that no solid state synth can create. I personally used it with my modular rig and came up with some pretty cool sounds..."
