These 50 custom patches will load to 450-499 on your Dave Smith / Sequential Prophet 6. These patches range in all genres from Classic Analog, Synthwave, EDM, Film Score, Ambient and more. Every patch has a custom sequence programmed by me as well, so click “play” on the sequencer to get an idea of what the patch would sound like in context of a song! Enjoy this no talking sounds demo.

Note: While these patches make use of many of the Prophet 6’s excellent effects, most don't use the onboard reverb. In this demo, I am using the Empress Reverb, so I strongly encourage you to add your favourite reverb to these patches! Also your Prophet 6 must be updated to the latest firmware to use these patches as they make use of the vintage knob update!

"Shootout / comparison of the three high end analog synthesizers from Oberheim / Sequential. Which should you get?

All 3 synths were recorded direct into UAD Apollo 16 interface with no EQ or pre-amp coloring. While I did my best to level match all 3 of the synths, these are analog instruments with a high variance in dymanic range, so at some points, one synth will sound louder than others. For example, the OB-6 sometimes sounds louder than the others, because of its inherently hotter levels driving into its internal mixer, despite reading similar levels on the meter. It's a fine balance to get the levels close, without overcompressing the master audio file, so I went for as transparent of a recording as possible, so keep that in mind if you have issues with level matching.

Motor Synth MkII and Synthstrom Deluge | downtempo synth performance

A live synthesizer jam performed entirely on hardware.

Full disclosure: Walrus sent me along the R1 MkII for free. I'm a big fan of their Slöer pedal and also really like the Meraki (both of which I bought with my own money), so I was happy to give the R1 MkII a spin. It's a decent workhorse pedal with full stereo, some cool algorithms (including a sort of granular-delay-reverb thing), and an easy interface. I think the Slöer is still the better pedal if you're choosing based on character/personality, but if you need versatility and a small footprint, the R1 MkII might be for you. I look forward to exploring it more!

Once again, the incredible Miles Away leant me some of his gear to try out. This time, it's the Motor Synth MkII. It's hard to justify at the price point and with a technology that is less known in terms of longevity, and it certainly has some quirks that won't be for some. But man alive, the Motor Synth sounds absolutely incredible: warbly, rich, binaural, capable of mellow lofi ambient all the way up to overdriven bananas cyberpunk. It's incredible.

Here, I leveraged the mellower side of the Motor Synth and paired it with the Deluge, which is a natural fit in terms of complementary sounds. The R1 MkII was the reverb on the Motor Synth and also was a perfect fit; there's something about the R1's algorithms that makes the good for fitting in a mix. And to glue the Deluge sound together and add a little more personality, I added the Chroma Console doing saturation, doubling, delay, and tape.

This is an update to the previous video "Zinc Negative Resistance 80 Meter CW Transmitter". In the previous video, the sound of the transmitter at 5 miles was simulated. This update plays the actual sound of the transmitter as recorded on video from various distances up to 5 miles.

K7NS builds a very simple 80 meter cw qrp transmitter made out of a homemade zinc negative resistance diode. This simple radio transmitter is made without using any vacuum tubes or transistors, and it's ultra low power of 100 microwatts can be easily heard 5 miles away.
