"The QuBit Surface, to me, is one of the best physical modeling drum modules on the market right now. I know there are others that have way more modulation and Control over every little aspect of the sound, but i'm trying to make the music not the drum sounds! -- On top of all that, the size is perfect for my smaller cases and The Surface is quick and easy to use with its small size and 3 main knobs for controlling the sounds. When i tried it out at Namm 2020 i knew it was an instant favorite.

Digitakt Destroyed Sample // Resampling chords to death

"So after my last Digitakt Resample video [below] I was hit up asking to redo it but slightyl differently this time. So now, i've taken a sample and sped it up as fast as possible, resampled that and stretched it back down. This method created lo-fi chords instantly almost too lofi haha!"

"I took the EP–133 K.O. II around NAMM 2024 to sample sounds from some awesome musicians playing their instruments, straight into the KO II using the on board microphone! After the show was all done, I took the sounds back to the studio to see if I could make anything with the sounds that we got. "I've tried getting used to the ReNoise workflow for what feels like forever.. I couldn't do it! it was the weirdest DAW to me. But for whatever reason using the Polyend Tracker to make music fully standalone doesn't really feel like a DAW even though thats exactly what it is.. I think its just having my Tracker shortcuts right on the face of the unit vs hidden behind the QWERTY keyboard made all the difference for me."

"In this Compact Creation, let's put the EP-133 to the test! I'll make a track from start to finish. This is how I'll be using the Teenage Engineering KO ii in my studio. Sampling sounds, arranging a track, and getting ideas down quickly. As you'll see there are some weird quirks along the way. But in reality, it's just a workflow I'm not fully used to yet."

5 Layers of Acid Basslines Sounds AMAZING // Blackbox meets Avalon Bassline, A Compact Creation

"Inspired my the one of my favorite tracks, i wanted to play with the idea of layering multiple acid style basslines and bringing them in and out using the looper function on the 1010 blackbox. I'm realising i do something similar in my live setup. I'll take multiple midi sequences and send them all to the same synthesizer (ex. [Dawless Live Set below]) Anyway, this turned out a lot cooler than i had hoped! Also, running a straight forward analog monophonic subtractive synthesizer through some FX can REALLY help it go a lot further."

There is a lot i wish would change in a Digitakt Firmware update but we'll see since Elektron just released one on June 9, 2020. After a year or so of using the Digitakt, i've found new flaws in it that i originally didn't know existed!"

"What is Key tracking? I've been loving using keyboard tracking as a modulation source for weirder things. Outside of the typical Filter tracking, key tracking can be used as a source, on most synthesizers with a good mod matrix, to modulate a vast number of things. In this video i try and sound design a sound i heard in my head while driving, using key tracking as the core modulation source.

I've slept on this modulation type for way too long. I didn't realize that using Noise as a modulation source on a synthesizer could be so powerful! What's great about this type of modulation is that you can do it on almost any synthesizer as long as you have an LFO that can go into Random or Sample & Hold mode. I show you how in the video! "We caught up with Ricky Tinez at the Elektron booth, who introduced us to the *Digitone 2*. This updated iteration has seen a significant boost in capabilities compared to its predecessor with an expansion from four to 16 tracks and voices, and the inclusion of multiple machine types. Notable additions include FM Drum, Wavetone, and Swarmer machines, advancing its sonic versatility. The Wavetone offers wavetables with smooth interpolation between its two oscillators.

Ricky demonstrated the intuitive page navigation that streamlines access to different settings and highlighted features like the morphing filter and separate noise generator with its envelope and filter. The FM Drum, a new addition, supports creative synthesis beyond conventional drum sounds, showing potential for melodic applications.

Users can also access deeper modulation, with three LFOs providing enhanced control."
