4) Octatrack + XBase 888 + Prophet 08 = 8fx - "The octatrack is sequencing the prophet 08 and providing clock/transport for the xbase 888. The audio from the xbase and prophet is then routed through the octatrack where it goes through a chain of 8 effects using neighbour machines."

5) Octatrack + Little Phatty = Monday night riff - "The octatrack is sequencing the little phatty and providing the beat via drum samples. Hardware: - Elektron Octatrack - Moog Little Phatty Stage 2 Software: Ableton Live (auto filter)"

6) Octatrack + Little Phatty = Real time sampling + FX - "Someone requested I do a video where the little phatty's audio gets sent into the octatrack for real time sampling. So here it is. In addition I run the little phatty through 4 fx using a neighbour machine. The outputs of the little phatty and voyager are fed into the octatrack where they get sampled in real time and have up to 4 effects applied via neighbour machine. The output of the prophet 08 is going direct (dry). The drums are from the octatrack. Light compression + reverb from ableton live. Note the Clarke IMAGINATOR VCX-378. It's a module from none other than Vince Clarke of Yaz, Erasure, and early Depeche Mode fame. It was introduced back in 2015. What's odd is I haven't seen it featured in any online demos since then. This listing however is only for the stand. The modules and Analog Four are not included.

The MS Combi SKIFF stand raises the Elektron unit to the right angle for performance and programming making the production workflow a breeze and ensuring cables are not snagged or in the way.

The MS 66HP skiff is 5.5cm deep so will fit most Eurorack synth modules be sure to check your module depth before purchasing.

Here's the full recap of the video in case anything is unclear when it comes to composing with the Elektron Octatrack and Analog Four together,

Both of these setups presume that the Octatrack and Analog Four are connected with a 5-Pin DIN MIDI cable: Going from the MIDI OUT of the Octatrack to the MIDI IN of the Analog Four.

You have two choices:
Option 1 - Octatrack is the leader and Analog Four follows
You must have Prog. Change enabled in the Project Settings of the Octatrack (Press Func. + Mixer to access).
This is a checkbox within the MIDI category (the last option in the pop up menu) in the Sync settings. You also need to set a MIDI channel number (that isn't being used for anything else) to transmit those program changes (aka. Pattern Changes) to the Analog Four. Use the arrows and the level knob to set that. Before moving to the Analog Four, check that TRANSP and CLOCK Send boxes are checked.
Over on the the Analog Four, press Function + Global (the last key in the mini keyboard on the unit) to access the synth's settings. Arrow down through the options until you reach the MIDI Config item. Hit "Yes".
Check the Sync Settings, Clock Receive and Transport Receive should both be checked.
Then Arrow down to the "Channels" menu item. Press "Yes". Arrow down to the 9th menu item "PROG CH IN CH" and make sure the channel number matches the sending channel from the Octatrack. Use Knob A to change, if necessary.
Ensure that Song Mode is not on for the Analog Four. Now the Analog Four will play whatever pattern the Octatrack is playing at the time.

Option 2 - There are no leaders Octatrack sets the tempo and play/stop.
To make this happen, follow the instructions above but you need to ensure that on the Octatrack PROG CH is unchecked or off. This is way it isn't sending marching orders to the Analog Four. Everything else should remain the same.

"A live, semi-improvised performance, all on hardware, and inspired by Elektron's classic Monomachine and all its surprising features. If you didn't already know, the Monomachine is a discontinued, older machine, and (to the best of my knowledge) nothing in Elektron's line-up can quite replace what it did. Once I was using the Rytm and the Monomachine, it seemed silly not add in the rest of the Elektron team. The Zoia was brought on at the last minute to give that "old VHS" sound to the Digitone.

Elektron Monomachine SFX60-UW MkII — Master-level effects on the Rytm, plus two synth lines (high lead, chorus saw), plus drums

Elektron Analog Heat on Sine Waves (Melody and Bass) - How does it sound?

"In my second Tryout of the Elektron Analog Heat i wanna find out how it sounds on pure Sine Waves. For this i've used a free Software Synthesizer called "Helm", set it to produce a single Single Sine Wave - and let the Heat do the rest ;-)

I start with a Melody and move over to a Bass Sound. I highly recommend Headphones for this one - especially for the Bass Part.

"Hello everyone. I thought i should start talking a little bit about gear and stuff as well :-) So i am proud to introduce you to a new "format" on my Channel - the umoTalk - where i will do exactly this in the future. In my first Video in this category its about the Elektron Digitakt and whether you might need it - or not.

Im trying to give you some ideas for the Usage of the Digitakt from the perspective of someone who:

1. Does own Elektron Machines already ( 3:00 )
2. Does NOT own Elektron Machines - or even Hardware in general - yet ( 10:41 )

Those are my personal thoughts on it right now. It isnt released yet, so things may change when it's out. I will update this Video if the need arises.

Tips & Tricks: Class Compliant USB Audio Interface with Elektron Drum Machines and Synths

"Did you know that almost all Elektron devices* are USB class compliant? That means you can easily send audio out from your Elektron drum machine or synth directly to your Apple iOS or OS device and record proper line-level audio. This is great for quickly capturing that beat you've been working on and sharing it with friends or for posting on social media like a pro. In this video we look at how easy it is to plug and record audio to your Apple device with no additional drivers, app or software required! It's also possible to send any incoming audio from external sources routed through to your Elektron box, out to USB as well. In this video we jam the Elektron Syntakt together with a vintage Roland TR-606. The TR-606 audio is running into the external input of the Syntakt and all the sounds from both devices are being routed directly via USB audio into an iPhone.

Elektron firmware provides options for choosing what audio source output you want to route to your iOS device. The default setting will send the main stereo outs, whereby the mix of all your tracks inside your Elektron box is sent out via USB. Alternatively, there are options to choose a specific track out via USB; perhaps you just want to send your sick bass line without the kick drum — yes you can! The Analog Heat+FX also has the option to process incoming audio from USB, offering a two-way audio solution that has many creative applications. Your iPhone or iPad microphone might be good at recording your voice, but they're not great at capturing and representing your latest beat creation.

"We've been hearing a lot about Elektron's new analog four voice. From the stylish but somewhat obscure introduction movie which piqued our interest, to the sound audition pieces coming online as people get hold of their very own units.

The Analog Four is a new type of instrument from Elektron as it has 100% analog VCOs and Filters which are digitally controlled. Their Machine Drum and MonoMachine have been Virtual Analog and sample based.

Elektron came over from their Gothenburg HQ to give us a closeup look at the Analog Four.
Jon is the product manager and is doing the talking, Jenk the guy making all the sounds.

i make no apologies for the length of the video, its just that there seemed to be so many things to talk about. Also this is intended to be a discussion about the features of the instrument, there are many other videos available that are just audio demos - check them out.
