Bent by Sinevibes - Korg multi engine plugin

Published on Feb 20, 2019 Sinevibes

"Bent is an oscillator plugin for Korg’s multi engine. It implements a novel synthesis method called 'bent-wave frequency modulation', developed by Sinevibes." Priced at $29.

via Sinevibes

Bent is an oscillator plugin for Korg’s multi engine. It implements a novel synthesis method called “bent-wave frequency modulation”, developed by Sinevibes. Bent combines a classic modulator-carrier pair of sine oscillators with a unique “bender” module which changes the modulator signal’s curvature, phase, and time symmetry. Despite the “FM” part, bent-wave FM produces sounds more akin to a mix of two synchronized and filtered analog oscillators – with smooth, elastic waveform morphing. Due to its specific density and rounded curvature, Bent also forms a perfect symbiosis with Korg’s resonant low-pass filter, creating sounds with incredible plasticity.

SPECIFICATIONS

Two sine oscillators with unique module that “bends” curvature, phase, and time symmetry before the frequency modulation stage.
Five different output waveforms with variable shape and harmonic balance.
Built-in lag filters for noise-free, ultra-smooth parameter adjustment and modulation.
Built-in LFO with widely adjustable frequency (0.1 to 10 Hz).
Built-in envelope generator with widely adjustable attack and decay times (1 ms to 10 s).

Tube by Sinevibes - Korg multi engine plugin

Published on May 8, 2019 Sinevibes

"Tube is an oscillator plugin for Korg’s multi engine. It couples a super-flexible noise generator with a feed-forward comb filter, a combination that we call “resonator modeling synthesis”. By modulating the noise density, the noise generator can create a very wide variety of signals such as bursts, gusts of air or sand, scratching, particles dropping onto a surface – and beyond. When these special signals are used to “excite” the resonator, Tube produces incredibly lively, nature-like tones: from woodwinds, plucked and bowed strings, to much more experimental, randomly evolving ones. Tube also features its own low-frequency oscillator, an envelope generator, and allows its noise signal to be used dry for even more sound design possibilities.

KORG Dipole v2 by Sinevibes - with KORG prologue

video upload by Sinevibes

"Dipole by Sinevibes is a through-zero flanger effect plugin for KORG prologue, minilogue xd and NTS-1. Product page: https://www.sinevibes.com/korgdipole"

KORG Dipole v2 by Sinevibes - with Elektron Digitakt

video upload by

KORG Dipole v2 by Sinevibes - with Roland SP 404 mkII

"Dipole is a through-zero flanger plugin for KORG prologue, minilogue xd and NTS-1. It combines two delay lines, with one able to run earlier or later in time relatively to the other, plus a switching feedback signal routing. Right around the zero time difference between the delays, this algorithm produces a “jet fly-by” effect with positive feedback – or full sound cancellation with negative feedback. Originally, through-zero flanging was achieved using a pair of tape machines, by playing two copies of the same recording and then manually controlling the difference in tape speed and position. Here, an LFO with a sine waveform is used to periodically sweep the effect’s time difference parameter."

KORG Prologue SDK Development Boards Coming to SUPERBOOTH18

"A little something for Superbooth in Berlin next week."

Open source KORG. Remember the Prologue allows you to create your own oscillators and effects.

From this post on the Prologue:

The big surprise: "The prologue offers an SDK (Software Development Kit) that allows developers to program, customize and extend the capabilities of the multi-engine and digital effects and is expected to be available for download in the spring of 2018. The prologue provides 16 user oscillator slots and 16 user effect slots, and users can use the prologue Librarian software (also expected to be available for download in the spring of 2018) to load into their prologue new oscillators and effect programs created by developers with the prologue SDK (Software Development Kit)."

Curious if these Development Boards are required for the SDK or if they will allow more. Note the input and output. This of course implies you would be able to use the boards to process and output audio. What sort of engine will be provided? The full synth engine of the Prologue or a limited engine? MIDI and access to the SDK will be over USB. Note the lack of and MIDI jacks.

Korg Prologue: Pads (Stock Patches)

Published on Jan 20, 2019 MR TUNA Music

"Get more familiar with the 500 presets the Korg Prologue has to offer. I love building patches as much as the next guy, but sometimes some instant inspiration is what's desperately needed. The Prologue makes it really easy to find a specific patch, or to find a patch based on the type of sound you are looking for.
These are the pads. My apologies for the repetitive playing and progressions-- still improving my chord-smarts.

This is the 16 voice version of the Korg Prologue, and the low frequency compressor is about half way. I probably should have turned that OFF.
(I definitely should have turned it off)

Also, experience the surreal beauty and the technological marvel that is the MR TUNA HOLO-DISPLAY 2000™ Virtual-Synthesizer-Holographic-Display System™ as it displays real time patch and sound information on it's informative Information Display™"

"Build it, tweak it, connect it; a world of synthesis at your fingertips!

Korg is always building new ways to experience hands-on, fun music-making.
Now, you can too.

The Nu:Tekt NTS-1 digital KIT is a unique, flexible, and easy DIY synthesizer that you can easily assemble yourself, without any soldering (tool included!).

The first of its kind from KORG’s DIY-focused Nu:Tekt brand, NTS-1 packs a powerful synth and multi-effects engine into a compact form factor that you can carry and connect anywhere. Its DIY nature means it’s also very customizable. Explore the possibilities!

NTS-1 is also completely compatible with the logue-SDK*, so it is possible to run any custom oscillator and effect content available for minilogue xd and prologue, or, create your own.

* When using 3rd party plugins on the NTS-1 please consult with the developer first as the content may sound differently than with minilogue xd or prologue based on polyphony.

A wide range of sonic possibilities

Belying its size, the Nu:Tekt NTS-1 features a digital oscillator inspired by the MULTI engine as found on the acclaimed prologue and minilogue xd, along with an extremely capable arpeggiator including multiple ranges, scales, and modes, plus dedicated spatial, modulation, and delay sections, each with multiple settings to explore.

With a single monophonic digital oscillator, one multimode filter, on EG, three LFOs, three stereo effect processors, and full arpeggiator, the NTS-1 is a very powerful, flexible, fun-to-explore synth.

The main oscillator can produce Sawtooth, Triangle, Square and VPM waveforms, and can load custom oscillators created from Korg’s logue SDK, which means it’s compatible with content created for prologue and minilogue xd. These waveforms can be easily re-shaped and adjusted just by simply turning a couple of knobs.

A wide selection of filters (Low pass 2/4-pole, High pass 2/4-pole, Band pass 2/4-pole and OPEN mode, all with resonance) give you serious control over the overall tone of the oscillator.

The three onboard effects units are inspired by those on KORG’s minilogue xd, which itself took onboard effects to a whole new level. Numerous reverbs, modulation effects, and delays are available to blend and edit at will, to really finish out your sound creations.

NTS-1 also offers a fun and practical arpeggiator with several patterns available. Scales and numerous note orders including a Random mode are also available to create new and original ideas on the fly. The pattern length can be adjusted (from 1 to 24 steps) and, when synced externally, the step duration can also be adjusted (16th to 64th notes)

Thanks to its ribbon controller, simple interface and display, the NTS-1 can be played and enjoyed very intuitively. Deeper parameter changes are also possible with several combinations of buttons / knobs, furthering the possibilities. Don’t let its size fool you; NTS-1 goes deep but keeps it all easily accessible.

Customize the experience

The fun isn’t over after you finish building the NTS-1. The screws on the side panels are long enough to let you easily attach custom side panels.

Get creative and use the NTS-1 in a wide variety of setups. Equipped with AUDIO IN, SYNC IN, SYNC OUT and MIDI IN connectors, the NTS-1 can easily be used in combination with other hardware and software.

You can control it using external MIDI controllers and sequencers, use it to modify and audio signal with its powerful digital effects, or even sync it to other hardware and jam along!

It’s also USB micro-B powered so you can plug it directly to a portable battery and take it anywhere with you! You can also connect to your computer’s USB port or directly to the power supply using a standard USB power plug.

Free bundle of music software

The NTS-1 comes with a diverse variety of music software from Izotope including 'Ozone Elements' which lets you not only create songs but also master them using AI, 'Skoove' which will help you improve your keyboard playing skills, 'Reason Lite' DAW software, as well as software synths from KORG and other brands.

In other words, the moment you get your hands on this synthesizer you'll have a variety of tools to help you take your music to the next level."

Korg Prologue controlled by Low Frequency Expander for extra modulations

Published on Mar 18, 2020 Steve Hunt

"The Yorick Tech Low Frequency Expander (LFE) is designed primarily for the Sequential / DSI OB-6 and Prophet 6 synthesizers, but it can now also control the Korg Prologue - another synth with relatively few modulation sources. The LFE adds 3 complex LFOs and a complex 6-stage envelope generator which can also be used as a 2 to 16 step sequencer. This is a simple demo of what the LFE can add to a few of the Prologue's factory patches. Not trying to be remotely musical here, just showing some of the extra modulation abilities on offer.

1. Runner Brass. Two slow LFOs modulating VCO1 and VCO2 shapes giving a very rich sound, envelope modulating filter resonance so each note starts without resonance, another (fast) LFO modulating filter frequency but only brought in with increasing velocity.

2. June Pad. Chorus speed controlled with envelope so it speeds up through the note then slows down. Reverb off during note but then full depth after note released.

3. In my dream. Velocity and LFE's envelope modulating Xmod depth, velocity modulating timbre balance reducing the level of the 'tinkle' with more velocity. LFO 3 comes in after about 2 seconds with a repeating pattern modulating the filter frequency, then I change the pattern type.

4. Solid Bass. Complex envelope modulating filter freq , LFO1 modulating VCO1 shape to give more richness, LFO2 is a key-triggered saw wave modulating Osc3 shape which gives a dark beat, LFO3 does the same with resonance giving a ching-ching beat with increasing velocity.

5. Opal mine. 7-step sequencer controlling filter frequency, filter freq and res controlled by LFO 2 and 3 giving the flutter effect, velocity controlling the Korg's LFO rate.

6. ReeseFlux. Envelope controlling the Korg's LFO rate and the depth of LFO1's sine wave which is modulating filter drive. LFOs 2 and 3 are modulating resonance and filter freq which come in after a few seconds.

8. Sherbet. Longer sequence modulating filter freq, LFO2 modulating Osc3 shape with velocity, LFO3 modulating filter res.

9. Raid rush. Envelope modulating filter env depth, velocity controlling the Korg's amp envelope's Attack time, LFO 2 modulating Osc3 level with a saw wave, LFO3 controlling filter freq.

10. Sparkle. Envelope controlling Osc 3 shape, 3 LFOs coming in after a del and/or fade to modulate filter frequency and VCO1 shape.

11. Poly spread. Complex envelope controlling filter freq and 3 LFOs coming in after delays to modulate 2 VCO shapes and filter env depth, one with just 3 cycles.

14. Cinematica. Envelope controlling Osc3 shape, filter freq controlled by a delayed stepped wave from LFO1, LFO2 modulating resonance, LFO3 brought in by velocity to affect VCO2 Octave giving the repeating beat pattern."

"Set" with Roland Juno 60, Juno 106, TR-8S, and Korg Prologue

Published on Jun 6, 2018 Machiwoomiapoo

"'Set' with Roland Juno 60, Juno 106, TR-8S, MSQ-700, MX-1, and Korg Prologue
This was a fun little ditty to create. I programmed all the drum patterns and variations into the Roland TR-8S. After that I programmed a sequence into the Roland Juno 106 for the BASS line and the Juno 60 for the Arp line. I used the MX-1 to add some variation via the scatter function. For the solo I explored some Korg Prologue presets and found 21 and 16 to be great for the tune. Thanks for listening. I appreciate it. Take care and have a wonderful summer! :) Sam."

Korg Prologue 8 Voices and 16 Voices 1st contact presets played

Published on Mar 13, 2018 Matthias plays

"I had the chance to get to play both versions of the new Korg Prologue Synthesizers. I really enjoyed droping the presets and mangling around with them. The Korg Prologue is a one of its kind I must say. There is so much possible that you really need much more time than I had today. I am looking forward to my personal synth of this series. I will for sure play around with much more intense and individual soundscapes. But for now enjoy this short drop in to some presets and those various soundscapes both synths generate."
