Erica Synths Steampipe + Torso S4 // DAY 17 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"Perfectionism almost killed this video, and for a second, I forgot about the point of #jamuary I recorded, and recorded, and re-recorded, and a few days have passed, back and forth, because I care so much about this sound, this vibe, this balance.
I am not 100% satisfied, but I have to let it go, because otherwise I know for sure I will start to hate these chords, I will have to tweak the sounds once again, I will change the video, and so on.
But I do love the resulting vibe, and I will try my best to bring variations on this theme in some live scenario, maybe with a different controller instead of the OPXY (which I am only using because it has midi via 3.5mm jack and... an audible metronome, I am looking at you, Torso)
I hope you'll like it, now this jam is free to run wild on the internet ๐งก"

Beetlecrab Tempera & Piano // DAY 16 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"First of all: what a beautiful light to let the canvas shine, right?
Second: what an intelligent piece of gear, the Tempera is. I am not even sure why I would call it that, but I feel it has an answer for almost everything (granular related, obviously) I could ask.
And I felt that from the instant I got it. It was probably one of the rare few times I decided to go through the manual before trying the instrument, and I feel that approach comes from the machine layout itself: we need to prepare the canvas before letting ourselves go with the painting process.
But I like this approach, it slows you down, helping you to think about your intentions with a specific emitter, even a specific color.
I started with the piano as a neutral input, and a simple drum track, using the brilliantly implemented Euclidean sequencer, and it's love already.
I hope you'll like it! ๐งก"

Random Source SERGE INORI + TKB // DAY 14 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"This feels so wrong – but why? ๐
A sprinkle of acid with my Serge INORI, using 8 steps only from the TKB, lane A for pitch, lane B for glide, lane C for filter modulation (and lane D was for pitch transpose, but that was a bit harder to master in a quick jam, so I ended up leaving it out).
One oscillator provides the bass, the other one the kick, you know the drill.
So much fun, I hope you'll enjoy it! ๐งก"

Synthstrom Deluge // Laid back beat
video upload by Dexba
"I can never say no to a lo-fi beat on the Deluge; it has this distinct sound quality that invites me to keep it softer and relaxed (it must be the Boards of Deluge presets too).
The Arpeggiator functions are just so cool, especially with the current 1.3 firmware, where I can use the four buttons under the screen to navigate through the menu pages.
But the firmware being still in beta also meant for some reasons the Swing function wasn't working on this project, and being a quick jam during #jamuary I didn't have time to troubleshoot the situation ๐
That's on me though, there is really nothing bad to say about the Deluge as an instrument and a community around it. Will 2026 be the year I become more comfortable with its many functions?
Proceeding slowly but steadily :)
Chase Bliss Clean is there for a little bit of gentle polish (I know the Deluge already has a compressor, but since I got it in the Mystery Box last year, I am trying to leverage it more ahah), and Generation Loss mk2 is probably the pedal I use the most with the Deluge, exactly because what I was saying in the beginning: enhancing the lo-fi, laid back approach.
I hope you'll like it! ๐งก

Moog Subharmonicon + Boss RE-202 // Beautiful Harmony
video upload by Dexba
"I don't usually play the Subharmonicon, but when I do, I get lost for hours in this delicate balance of over (and under) tones.
The Roland/Boss RE-202, which some people call the most faithful recreation of the RE-201, fills the gaps, in an awesome synthetic glue.
I hope you'll like it! ๐งก"

Eventide H90 + 0-Coast // The New Granular Engine!
video upload by Dexba
"Almost only the pedal is audible, bleah
That's the point!
Eventide recently came out with a surprise update, adding a completely new (and FREE, wow!) granular engine to the H90. For this video, I loaded two instances in parallel, one running the Cosmic Web algorithm (and as soon as you hear the video, you'll immediately understand why it's called that), and the other running Glitch, for those sparkly textures you hear here and there.
«but Dexba, you didn't even patch the Make Noise 0-Coast», yeah, exactly, because in this video the instrument is the Eventide H90, and I wanted the simplest (but best sounding) source I could use.
Plus, you get to experience a slow 0-Coast for once, since most of the other videos are focused on its plucking capabilities ;)
I hope you'll like it! ๐งก"

Teenage Engineering OPXY // Sparkling Water
video upload by Dexba
"Caught the flu, locked in bed, brought the OPXY with me because JAMuary doesn't stop.
I wanted to play something soothing, but still with a kick, and here we are!
OPXY is slowly teaching me how to lay down drums, and I just wish it had more parameters to mess with, ร -la-tracker. Maybe I should get a tracker? ๐
I hope you'll enjoy it!"

Meng Qi Wing Pinger + Torso S4 // DAY 7 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"What a fitting combination of instruments! Love, love, love.
I would have liked to spend more time (and I will) crafting a more intricate performance, but the time of a lunch break clearly wasn't enough.
Still, I love what came out of this jam, and the great polyrhythms that naturally arose.
I hope you'll like it! ๐งก"

UDO Super 6 // DAY 6 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"Washing my brain today without any beat, with a single instrument, on the floor: throwback to the OG Dexba ๐ The Super 6 by UDO is so effortlessly cool.
I am not strictly talking about the sound it produces, but the whole experience: tactile, visual, and auditory. JAMuary is still at the beginning, so I didn't get too crazy with the patch, and I also wanted some relax and pure sound/chord enjoyment.
This recording made me make peace with my OB-6 sale; we should never sell anything, some sales hurt more than others, and until this session, the OB6 was one of those hurting the most. Not anymore!
Yes, playing in this position is not ideal, and you'll inevitably hear the spot where something slipped, but it helps me so much reconnect with the pure joy of playing, outside of the room I've appointed studio.
I hope you'll like it! ๐งก"

Suiko ST-20 + Chase Bliss Reverse Mode C // DAY 4 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"I love everything about this combo, from the colors to the subtle lo-fi nature of the sound (I am using the halved sample rate on the RMC).
I also like the Suiko for its limited sound palette and the fixed, exotic (to me) scales, which force me to find my way around them or within them or both.
I hope you'll like it! ๐งก
This time, no affiliate links, because the Suiko hasn't been in production for the past 40 years, and the Chase Bliss pedal is also not in production ;)

Erica Synths Steampipe + Synthstrom Deluge // DAY 3 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"New day, new instruments, different languages, different gestures, and it's to surprise of no one that I am not equally proficient in each one of them, especially when they are same-same but different (like with the OPXY vs Deluge).
I've listened to this recording for a good part of the day and I was getting nauseated, but I asked my girlfried to check it out, she genuinely liked it a lot, so that's why I am uploading it.
Day by day, I feel the need for a mixer (and maybe a more powerful computer), but the focus is practice, and give a spot to all the beautiful toys I keep in the studio.
I hope you'll enjoy it!"

Make Noise Strega + Torso S4 // DAY 2 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"The music is tickling: I've spent the last night envisioning a setup that could yield the most power in the shortest amount of time, both for the recording and the preparation.
I decided not to use the OPXY again, because I feel like just resorting to a groovebox would be a bit like cheating. Anyway, here we are, and I am very happy I've uncovered yet another use for the Strega :)"

Teenage Engineering OPXY // DAY 1 #jamuary2026
video upload by Dexba
"This year, I really want to try.
I want to get better, I want to become more fluent in the language of the many instruments I've collected, I have no idea where this will lead me, probably I'll feel the urge to sell everything and go back to just listening to other people's music, but in order to find that out, I need to at least try.
So here we are!"

Make Noise Almost ReSynthesizer // Diffusion Patch
video upload by Dexba
"[no talking, patch notes on screen]
I am building a ReSynthesizer, little by little, and I wanted to share with you my journey while the case is not yet full, but already showing a lot of potential for interesting patches.
This is how I envision a patch I would go live with: some key points ready to be messed with, but without the need for planned sequences, saved patches, and so on.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did playing it ๐งก"

Donner L1 // Four evocative patches [no talking, audio only]
video upload by Dexba
The Roland SH-101, here reimagined by Donner in the L1, didn't offer most of the amenities we are accustomed to today, but I wanted to try to come up with four patches that could show some other sides of the instrument, closer to my likings. I hope you will find them of some inspiration ๐งก"

TipTop Resonator // What is a resonator?
video upload by Dexba
"I always feel like there is some obfuscation going on with the terminology in synthesizers (and music theory too, btw), and that's even more noticeable when we're talking about 70s technology ๐
This time, we're checking out the new TipTop module, which is, by nam,e a resonator, the blueprint coming from the Moog PolyMoog, but we'll find out the lines are blurred, and you might find great uses for it as a filterbank, an end-of-chain EQ, maybe even a sound source, and definitely a performative element for added movement and depth to our patches!"

Teenage Engineering OPXY // Ready for the dancefloor
video upload by Dexba
"Hello, first time doing techno, if that's even techno? I am so incredibly (irrationally?) afraid of naming genres, because few other things enrage musicians like not getting the genre right.
But I think the very minimalistic video is quite fitting, if only Teenage Engineering had been brave enough and not give a blue tint to their greys (which I obviously removed ๐)
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this video of the tiny OPXY in action, used in almost each of its parts (step components, punch-in fx, different scale tracks, trig conditions, FX, drums, multisampling, alternative patterns per track, pitch bend, live playing, equaliser, compressor, distortion).
I've only left out the Song Mode, mostly because I was afraid of ruining everything by deleting patterns, and also because I like to go with the flow and I never have proper structures in mind while playing, so... But that will be quite an important part of the workflow, especially if you are going live with the OPXY, mostly because it's very hard to do multiple things at the same time, like for example launching/unmuting a clip while playing with the Punch-In FX™, but the idea behind that is that most things should be sequenced anyway, which is both incredibly powerful, and a bit limiting!
Can't wait to finally see a 1.1 firmware on this tiny powerhouse ๐งก"

New Tiptop Audio & Buchla 230t Tips and Tricks
video upload by Todd Barton
"Just a few ideas for patches with the Tiptop Buchla 230t Triple Envelope Follower. Also, checkout Stazma's video on the 230t:"
[The new Tiptop Audio & Buchla 230t announced in May is now out. Check with dealers on the right for availability.]
Tiptop Audio & Buchla 230t Demo
video upload by Stazma
"Today we are going to check out the new module from the Tiptop & Buchla 200t serie: the Triple Envelope Follower Model 230t.
It's a fantastic addition to the 200t echosystem, that will let you control dynamic or timing with external audio such as, microphone, samples, drum pads, electric instruments, field recording or anything in that spirit. It can also be used as an decay envelope in the system or in compression / expansion patches."
TipTop Buchla 230t – Triple Envelope Follower // Interact with your patches!
video upload by Dexba
"The Buchla 230 is here, and while it might not be the shiniest module (I know you're lusting after the tenth granular effect or the twelfth tape-inspired contraption), it's quite a useful and FUN one!
Not only does it stop the modular from being this separated entity, and it gives it back the ability to listen and interact with the real world, but analysing the internal signals can be a productive endeavour too.
In this video, I'll show you some cool patches, and I will introduce the concept of sidechain in the Buchla system, which in this case was used in the most common way we associate with the term, but it can also be a powerful tool to swell reverbs, make multiple voices arise in a sea of notes, and, in general, make more lively patches :)"
Check with dealers on the right for availability.

Make Noise 0-Coast + 0-Ctrl // Bamboo Plucks
video upload by Dexba
"I had fun playing, that's it :)
This channel should mostly be about this, and I am glad to upload something like that.
This is my fourth 0-Coast, and until now, I didn't click with it because I never had a 0-Ctrl to pair it with, and I was missing the goodness of the variable gate input, plus I love capacitive keyboards and tuning stuff by ear (like you might have guessed from my other videos), so... here we are.
Plus, this combo is SO CUTE, tiny, portable, it makes me want to eat it like a candy.
I hope you'll enjoy it!"
