Machine Boy

"Building A Better Boy was created
with a Roland MC50 & Alesis Micron synth
handling the bassline, the speech is created with
an apple mac running Simpletext in os9, the
melodyline is a couple of Subtractor synths in Reason and the
Boss DR55 handles the drums.
The track is assembled and finished
in Logic Audio on a G4 mac."

Analog Echo EM-006

YouTube via moogfreak
"Hello outside. This is a video about an old little juicy echo-machine called "Analog Echo EM-006". In this video you can see and more important hear, what this nice-sounding vintage-echo-machine can do with the beat of an also old analog Roland TR606 drum-machine."

BOSS GE-10 graphic equalizer

YouTube via moogfreak
"This is the vintage analogue BOSS graphic equalizer GE-10. In this video I will show the potential of this old nice-sounding EQ by equalizing a sequence played with the moog prodigy analog synthesizer. Please excuse the little pumping of the compressor from my videocam."

MC303 sound demo

YouTube via se7ense7
"long video with me browsing through a lot of the sounds of the MC303 groovebox by Roland. I bought this little piece of equiptment as an add-on to my synth and recording based studio, and to be able to make little sketches just using the MC303. I use it mainly as a soundsource, and I sure love those sounds. You just have to know where to use them. Pz, ARD"

You can find the full post with links and more images here on electro-music.com.

A brief excerpt:
"I have no experience with that particular system. I worked for Buchla when he was making the 200 series synthesizers. Actually, I was working for a project called the Electric Symphony Orchestra for which Buchla was the Technical Wizard."

Update: another link via the 200e list.

Sound Design: The Wind Saw Sweep

YouTube via MinorAchievements.
"This video shows you how to create a wind saw sweep. A common synth effect found in many songs.

I demonstrate it on the [KORG] Oasys and in Reason (Thor), but the same logic can be used for almost any analog synth.

The song shown in it is Pictures by the Sneaky Sound System.

Sorry about the screen movement during the reason demonstration. I'll avoid that in future."

Panther Modules

"Designed by Ken Stone, and bought to market by Laurie Biddulph of Elby Designs, TheBeast is proud to present The Panther Modular.

The module range is intended to work within the current market framework, set out by doepfer, analogue systems, et.al, but, insted of simply offereing yet another 'moog ladder' filter, to offer some truely unique modules, be it in function (Ken's 'Super Psycho LFO' is a fortcomming module) or in sound (try recreating the Steiner filter eleswhere!)

These modules, of course, are fully compatible with the Eurorack systems offered by Doepfer, Plan-B, Analogue Solutions, and the like, and electronically compatible with Analogue Systems modules, although different power cables must be used."
