ASM-2 (Part 7)

via Synth.nl where you will find more images and info.

"It has been a while since I worked on my DIY projects with the deadline stress for the album, but I picked up now where I left. I want to try and finish the ASM-2 first. In the picture on the left you can see the completely finished PolyDAC PCB. I also finished the Raw DC PCB by now. Not very exciting to look at. Basically it is just a rough power converter from AC to DC. It is nice that is a separate PCB so it can be mounted in the cabinet somewhere far away together with a transformer to avoid it from interfering the audio signal.

I also received the front panel for the ASM-2 recently. It was actually way bigger than I expected. From the pictures on the website from Elby I figured it would be 19'' format. But you can see it standing against our couch here so I can guess you can judge the format from it."

PRIZM Atmospheric Synth

"PRIZM is an atmospheric virtual instrument without equal. Using Evolvers, mystical and haunting vocals, lush pads and strings, symphonic brass, guitars, plucked instruments, insanely fat analog timbres, crazy modelled instruments, pianos, sound effects and morphing soundscapes, you can create phenomenal sound tracks for film, television, games and all types of musical genres. It includes a 35 gigabyte core library that was recorded in 24 bit, 48khz for the highest sonic quality."

KORG 800DV

Update via brandon daniel in the comments: "It's from the lobby in the Korg home office in Tokyo. Clearly moved around a bit since I've last been there, but here's my shot of the same synth in their lobby"

eyeSequencer (Work in Progress)

YouTube via cappelnord
"Every now and then you see some particullary beautiful eyes some of them inspired me to use images of eyes to create musical material. I wrote a little framework/application in Processing to help me analyse the image. "Scanners"€ circulate in the eye and analyse RGB and brightness values. These values are used to create OSC Messages, which then are send to SuperCollider. There I could generate sound, but for this example i decided to send MIDI control messages and notes to Ableton Live. Look/hear for yourself: Little reminder. This is a work in progress and I see much room for improvements. I only spend about one hour for the SuperCollider/Ableton Live part, so this could sound a lot nicer ;) Stay tuned for more!

lunetta modulars

via stolefant on this electro-music.com thread: "I've been relooking at some of the projects in this forum ...and was wondering what some of these lunetta modulars do?

heres a project in there built into a suitcase with some circuits described and i was wondering what they do. Could some one(s) give me some info here? Im very interested in building some experiments like this down the road.

-4015 dual shift register
Its of bugs design, i checked out his page, as I often do, and not to much info was given concerning perpous or what it does

-4094 shift register
-how does it differ from the 4015 module?

-4011 nand gate
obviously it concerns logic, but how does it process signals? what kind of signals does it end up generating and how can it be used with others? What is the ultimate result and why would i want one?

-4024 divider sub/osc
ok, so i'll assume its a sub sonic signal generator? maybe not? how does it divide, what does it divide, is it like a signal splitter?

-R/2R ladder
I have seen lots o these, some using diodes, do they simply join signals in a series, what effects can this have? Usefulness?

I would love some info, the sound samples provided in that forum are very cool and very inspiring."
