Sequencer with Voltage Controlled Switch

Sequencer with Voltage Controlled Switch from Peter Speer on Vimeo.

"Using a Doepfer A-150 Voltage Controlled Switch to alternate between reset points on a Voice of Saturn Sequencer-- the /16 output from an A-160 Clock Divider is switching between the Step 5 and Step 9 reset points on the Sequencer (so that it plays the 4-note pattern three times and the 8-note pattern once).

CV Out from the Sequencer is controlling the High Pass Cutoff Frequency on a Frostwave Resonator (set to self-oscillate).

The Square output from the ELF LFO is sent to a multiple, and from there is:

1. clocking the Sequencer
2. triggering the Clock Divider
3. gating an A-140 Envelope Generator

The Audio output from the Resonator is sent to the top half of an A-132-3 VCA. One of the A-140's outputs is sending CV to the VCA, and the other 140 output is controlling the Low Pass Cutoff Frequency on the Resonator. I don't have a Low Pass Gate-- this is the closest I can get to a "plucky" sound.

I apologize for the audio and video being a hair out of sync. Do your best to ignore it.

An odd theme

YouTube via attorks

"A sort-of Chinese like theme with a sequenced accompaniment may seem an odd combination. But I kind of liked it. The internal sequencer of the Waldorf Q Keyboard is the master sequencer; the Doepfer MAQ16/3 is synchronized to that. The sound from the Waldorf Q Keyboard is the first sequence you hear. The MFM, using the Synthesizers.com Q107 filter is the 2nd sequencer you hear; the MFM is driven by the MAQ 16/3. The 3rd sequence you hear is from the Creamware MiniMax ASB (not visible in the video) which is driven by the internal Waldorf Q Keyboard sequencer. The first solo is from the Korg 900PS with an Oldfield-like sound. The Clavia Nord Lead 1 is also linked to the Synthesizers.com Modular so you hear 2 sounds when I play the Nord lead 1 keyboard for solo's. I had to shorten the video somewhat because of the YouTube limit of 10 minutes. The original video can be seen or downloaded from my website after 23 april."
