Arturia Origin Review and Samples on cl516

There's a littl "Thriller" clip in the first demo.

The one thing interesting about the Origin is that it is the PPG Realizer re-incarnated - the first PPG Realizer to actually be realized. The PPG Realizer never made it to market like the Origin.

Swash Wall - 4ms Pedals Noise Swash Module

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"We decided since we had a couple we would hook them together and see what kind of mayhem ensued. The Noise Swash module can act as a CV source, noise source, audio processor and more. Talking with Dann from 4ms, it's not as much about where the knobs are set but how you got to the setting. Deep. More Swashing soon!"

First Stages of a TV Transmission Project

YouTube via yakthekyle
"Check out http://yaktronix.blogspot.com/ for stills of my Max patch and more info.

This is an ongoing performative work that involves video transmission and audio/video synchronization. The video above demonstrates the beginning of a piece that I will be working on throughout the remainder of this year. I will try to add updates as much as possible through the evolution of the project.
As of now it consists of a handmade tunable video transmitter and a micro controller based on the ATMega 168 chip. Detuning the transmitter creates a multitude of visualizations and colors. Photo resistors on the TV detect light levels and communicate with Max/MSP for audio control."

D16 Group Nithonat Now Available

You might remember the Nithonat from this post. It is now available at the D16 Group website. You'll find more info and some samples there.

For the archives:
"Nithonat is a fully synthesized drum machine based on the classic 606. The unique sound of this machine has been used by many artists over the years in the production of Electro, Hip-Hop and R n B.

The original 606 has been perfectly emulated. However, since Nithonat is software based, D16 were able to enhance the original with extra functionality.

Tiptop Audio: Z2040 LP-VCF

flickr by Analogue Haven
"Now available, the Tiptop Audio Z2040 Lowpass Filter. The Z2040 is based on the SSM2040 filter chip as used in the vintage Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 Revision 2 (arguably the most sought after version). This filter is brauny in sound and has lots of features yet it remains space-efficient at only 8 HP and with a killer price to match. The module costs $199. A VC gain function can add a lot of grit, and a VCA with a jumper selectable pre- or post-filter opens the doors for lots of options with this module. The module is in-stock and available via our website. LINK"
