Wiard / Malekko NoiseRing Anti-Oscillator Random FM Sequences

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"Awesomeness! The NoiseRing is controlling the pitch of the Anti Osc which is being modulated by a Cwejman D-LFO. It seems random at first then you can start to hear a structure in the chaos. The NoiseRing will repeat a sequence for a while and then change to another random sequence. The sequences vary depending on the "Chance" and "Change" variables which can also be modulated externally with CV's. The NoiseRing is also clocking an Analogue Systems rs200 sequencer, pitch A going to the linear fm input of the AO. The rs200 is also triggering an A.S. rs60 EG which is opening the Borg filter module, doubling as a filter and VCA. FM randomadness!"

i9 07.15.2009 (Arturia Moog Modular V)

YouTube via infinite9ths. sent my way via UniQue Werkx
"The Arturia Moog Modular V is an extremely versatile virtual synthesizer. In addition to a whole range of enhanced patching abilities and MIDI controller integration on the modular level, the polyphonic aspect is really nice. How about 4, 8 or 16 (however much cpu is available) modular or sequenced voices at once! I love it.

Feel free to listen to some more pieces at http://infinite9ths.com and visit my friend Sweep's site - his link is on the page you'll land on, or go directly to http://sweep.infinite9ths.com/"

Restored Yamaha Rm1x Sequence Remixer (1 of 2)

video upload by Yamaha Rm1x

"This is a Yamaha RM1x Sequence Remixer I'm selling on eBay.
The video was recorded with a Samsung NV24HD pocket camera.
Audio recorded with Audacity on a PC and later mixed with Windows Movie Maker.

Sequence 2 includes additional percussion from a Yamaha S90 synthesizer.
Sequence 1 is 100% RM1x.

27 (keyboard) contact switches were replaced with better tactile switches. The original black (Mitsubishi) floppy drive was replaced by a Panasonic drive.

The drums and basses are my favorite sounds on this thing; the second sequence bass is too funky for words."

"These make great drum computers, even if you don't use the internal sounds. The built-in step recording and grid recording modes make drum sequencing fun."

tomoberheim SEM Demo

YouTube via br0therl0c0
"A demo of the new tomoberheim.com SEM. This is more of a functional demo rather than a musical one. It's for anyone who may be curious how the Patch Panel version works, and/or how they might incorporate it into their rig.

I'm controlling the SEM with my Voyager Old School via the VX-351 CV Expander.

Hope you dig it, and thank you Tom Oberheim for recreating this amazing synthesizer!"

Braska the Frog Would Like to Visit You - Literally

via Aris

"Braska the frog from http://synth-diy.blogspot.com wanted me to send him on a trip to visit the labs of DIYers around the world and get photos and videos with their hand made synths. The project has already been started. Braska is on his way to Hungary and Tuesday probably will be the first photo shoot."

Some audio 'made with doepfer'

via ISM who brought us the Big Doepfer Filter Shootout:

"All tracks were made with a Doepfer A100 system plus some drumsamples, a Roland RE-201 and a Korg SE500. Polyphonic stuff was done with a detuned DX7 pure sine oscillator patch processed with Doepfer modules. Mixing done in Cubase.

The Doepfer modules that you can easily recognize are the filters and BBD modules. The bass sounds are derived from pure bass sine waves with A-136 distortion and A-137 wave multiplier. Phasing is done with the 12 stage vactrol phaser and a bit of thru zero flanging with the A-188-1 and A-118-2 BBD modules. But basically all sounds are processed with Doepfer modules.

Early 2010 there will be a limited edition cd with about 15 dubs in this kind of style."

Oxygene 13 played by GroovBird

"Many thanks to Jean Michel Jarre, for producing this song, and for allowing us fans to share our interpretations.

I play this live, using the following instruments:
- Roland XP-30 with Vintage expansion board, using the Solina patch with heavy modification and some layering.
- Korg ES-1 sampler with drum samples from Boss DR-880 used by Jarre in the album version.
- Korg RADIAS for the FX in the latter part.

Filmed on Canon EOS 5DMkII, I have some sync issues in the end, I hope you don't mind."

Yamaha CS70M, SK30 and Maxi-Korg

via Adrien

Click here for a super size shot. I was trying to figure out what looked different about the Maxi-Korg. I then realized it's simply missing the label like this one.

Update via Adrien in the comments: "this one should be called 800DV (same instrument)
i believe there was also a model called K3?"

Anyone know the history on these - why the different names and any technical differences?
