It has DCO's and a VCF - a real analog filter. It also has 3 envelopes and a noise generator. A shame that it doesn't have something like RING MOD. or OSC SYNC. But okay, it was small and cheap.
In this movie I show you some of my own sounds - without any added effects or equalizing. Really, it CAN sound excellent, if you program your own sounds. Some of the factory presets are ok, but not always that great...
The Poly-800 is great for analog pads, sequencer sounds and leads."

YouTube via bigcitymusic "Awesomeness! The NoiseRing is controlling the pitch of the Anti Osc which is being modulated by a Cwejman D-LFO. It seems random at first then you can start to hear a structure in the chaos. The NoiseRing will repeat a sequence for a while and then change to another random sequence. The sequences vary depending on the "Chance" and "Change" variables which can also be modulated externally with CV's. The NoiseRing is also clocking an Analogue Systems rs200 sequencer, pitch A going to the linear fm input of the AO. The rs200 is also triggering an A.S. rs60 EG which is opening the Borg filter module, doubling as a filter and VCA. FM randomadness!"

In addition to a whole range of enhanced patching abilities and MIDI controller integration on the modular level, the polyphonic aspect is really nice. How about 4, 8 or 16 (however much cpu is available) modular or sequenced voices at once! I love it.

"This is a Yamaha RM1x Sequence Remixer I'm selling on eBay.
The video was recorded with a Samsung NV24HD pocket camera.
Audio recorded with Audacity on a PC and later mixed with Windows Movie Maker.
Sequence 2 includes additional percussion from a Yamaha S90 synthesizer.
Sequence 1 is 100% RM1x.
27 (keyboard) contact switches were replaced with better tactile switches. The original black (Mitsubishi) floppy drive was replaced by a Panasonic drive.
The drums and basses are my favorite sounds on this thing; the second sequence bass is too funky for words."

"These make great drum computers, even if you don't use the internal sounds. The built-in step recording and grid recording modes make drum sequencing fun."
"Starting October 18th, we will offer monthly workshops at Salvage Vanguard Theatre where you can learn how to solder, build a synth kit, show off your own musical DIY project of any type, and jam with the new Andromeda Space Rocker synthesizer kits."
