Korg MS Series - Uptime probability

YouTube via Newueel
"A pretty complex setup with 3 analogue synthesizers and an analogue sequencer.

The SQ-10 plays an 8 step loop, controlling all the synthesizers in some way.

The MS-50 plays the kick drum and has 2 different trigger sources: SQ-10 channel B output and the SQ-10 multiple trigger output. They are combined using the adding amplifier which is useful for adding fills.

The MS-20 on the left is playing a bass sound, only triggered once each 32 steps and has a long envelope. Both filters are controlled by EG2 and SQ-10 channel A.

The MS-20 on the right plays a very quick (8 step) melody. It has a very special patch which allows you to control the probability with which a step is being played. The probability can be set from 0% to 100% using the MG pulse width knob. This makes it possible to skip sequencer steps at random which makes the patterns much more interesting. (I'll explain the probability feature another time.) Both MS-20's use a BPM delay.

Enjoy!"

"This ARP Sequencer is in complete working order and is presented as-is with no manuals or accessories. MK107 sequencer

YouTube via MirlitronOne
"How to turn a cheap Velleman LED kit into a simple eight-note analogue voltage sequencer for a synthesizer, WSG etc. The whole thing could be built for under £10 and has a novel function for playing subsets of the selected notes for 'related' arpeggios. This electronic music project comes to you from the bench of Mirlitronics, Inc., suppliers of low-tech gadgetry to "The Mirlitrons" - check us out on iTunes."

The Mighty Mirlitzer YT

"The Mighty Mirlitzer is a Music From Outer Space 'Sound Lab' synthesizer enhanced with a MFOS sample and hold (with glide) and a simple 4017-based sequencer as programmers. The construction highlight is the case which I picked up for $3 at the Dayton Hamvention flea market a couple of years ago. It was just waiting for the synthesizer to be built in it.

The Mighty Mirlitzer will feature in forthcoming music by The Mirlitrons (www.myspace.com/themirlitrons)."

The Panic Box

"The Panic Box is a prototype audio effect, designed specifically with theremins in mind, although it can be applied to any electronic instrument - particularly those that generate continuously variable pitches."

MPC4000 Meets Machinedrum UW

YouTube via erasemusic
"the MPC plays two patterns, you can hear the original in the beginning, one is the breakbeat the other is the percussion loop. the sound is being fed into the Machinedrum UW and all the variations you hear are done with two RAM machines in the Machinedrum UW, no other sounds or gadgets are being used."
