The Big Decision

YouTube via attorks | August 29, 2010

"The origin of this improvisation is a 16-step sequence I programmed in Nodal. I then programmed that sequence in the Doepfer MAQ16/3 on row 1 which drives the Ian Fritz Teezer Through-Zero VCO which in its turn provides a triangle waveform to the Ian Fritz 5Pulser and a sawtooth waveform to the Blacet MiniWave. The outputs of the 5Pulser and the MiniWave are fed to the Synthesizers.com Q107 filter. The 16-step sequence on row 2 of the MAQ16/3 drives the self-made Modular. Row 3 of the MAQ16/3 is providing the gate signal to shift the Synthesizers.com Q960 which has two 8-step sequences on row 1 and 2 alternated by the Q962 sequential switch. The Q963 trigger bus is used to mute and unmute steps of the Q960. The Roland XP-80 is used for an Oberheim type of sound and the Waldorf Q Keyboard does some string/brass type of sound. On the Clavia Nord Lead 1, four different voices are used for solo's, bass and chords.

In the video I added some photo's I made today of the equipment I use currently.

You can see/hear/download the full 25 minute video and music from my website soon."

3sleeves + acoustics & more + Korg microSAMPLER & more = microSESSION_v6

YouTube via 3sleeves | August 29, 2010

"Thought I'd share a slice of my routine with everybody. This is the last of the "microSESSION" series, but doesn't mean I won't be using the microSAMPLER...just time for a new saga to begin. The evolution of expression is also known as growth. Thanks to everybody for watching and showing support, it really is appreciated.
This track contains sounds created with my acoustic guitar run through a homemade piezo transducer pickup into my Boss SP-505 and sampled on the Korg MS-1. The drums and percussion are all original as well. the scratching was done with a Stanton C304 and the sound effects came from an "Eradicator" noise maker keychain toy I've had for a couple of decades now.
More videos will be coming soon and I plan on re-releasing most of my musical catalog from the past 10 years on this channel and subsequently on SoundCloud. Thanks again for watching. Peace.
Some more of my music can be found on my channel page or here:

DI box II

flickr by Aud1073cH

"This is my second little direct box. Since these may be more for synth, and I'm using a small enclosure, I only have one input jack, without the parallel loop output. For this second DI box, I decide to upgrade to nice rocker switches, and use a locking 1/4in. jack. For more info and pics, click through to the flickr photo description."

Banana Patch Cables

flickr by Aud1073cH

"I'm planning on building a little suitcase noise synth. I know that I'll want to start making noise as soon as I finish modules. So in preparation, I've assembled a fist full of cloth-covered banana patch cables. This batch ranges in size from 6in. to 24in."

Update: DIY instructions on instructables here.

Aalto-Experiment01

Aalto-Experiment01 by brunopronsato
"i am beta-testing madrona lab's synthesizer 'aalto.'(http://madronalabs.com/) i think it is an *incredible* piece of software. so inspiring that i feel i should share some of my results here.
i will hopefully be posting some 'tracks' periodically. keep in mind that these are more experiments and are not meant to be full tracks.
i would really like to see some support for these guys as they are doing some amazingly forward thinking stuff.
i am using some other sounds: drums, rhodes, etc. but the tweaking sounds and basses are all aalto.
thank you, randy jones, for your continued genius in this world..."

Side Note: The beta version of Aalto is currently monophonic, but the final version will be polyphonic!!!

ANALOG SYNTH ADSR AND LFO MOTM

via this auction

"Tom Whiltshire based ADSR and Yusynth based LFO. I made this on an orage plexi glass. This is a left over from my Motm format days. It needs a new home. Everything works. It must be on a 15v power supply format. The LFO is picky and only works on 15v.

There are bare wires and you must install this on your power supply yourself.

Yellow wire is Ground
Red wire is Positive
Black wire is negative."
