Let's Get Lofi 9 - Casiotone 7000 - Faulty in a good way!

"The CT7000 is a recent purchase of mine that i picked up locally after finding it on Ebay. Once i got it home i realised it was a bit faulty, but in th best possible way!

The CT7000 has the ability to memorise 2 sets of settings for the 20 built in sounds on channel 1 and channel 2 so you can flick between them while playing. But on the one i bought most of the presets on channel 2 come out sounding pleasantly distorted. In particular the Electronic Organ and Violin sounds are great. Luckily the keyboard has volume controls for the 2 channels so the distorted channel can be turned down to a level that matches channel 1. Perfect!

At the start of this little sketch of a song i play with the Electonic Organ on channel 1 (not distorted) and at about 1:10 i switch to the Violin on channel 2 (distorted).

By the way it shares quite a lot in common with the MT-68 and other casiotones of that era but has the advantage of a full size 5 octave key bed, sustain pedal input, volume pedal input, 2x 1/4" audio sockets for the stereo output and an autopanner feature which can be used to atempt to simulate a leslie speaker. Good stuff."
