Elby Designs ASM-2 Modular Analog Synth PCB project

via this auction

"Elby Designs ASM-2 synth, this sale is for fully stuffed PCB ONLY, it does not include front panel, pots or PSU that you will need to complete it as a fully modular or semi modular synth... When complete this will be a very capable and fat sounding true Analog synthesiser, it can be built either as a full modular design like this: [pdf link]

or can be built as a much simpler semi modular design like this: [pdf link]"

Elby Designs Pixie EDP Wasp clone synth + VCS3 filter

via this auction

"It is an exact clone of the EDP Wasp synth, but more stable and with Midi interface so that it can be played from any midi keyboard...

Elby designs added a third VCF to the design as well as the two Wasp filters, however it is a known design fault with this pcb that this transistor ladder filter does not work as there is insufficient voltage over the ladder, so I have disconected this filter completely and replaced it with a Yusynth Diode Ladder filter which is an exact replica of the EMS VCS3 / Synthi A VCF - this gives a much different, more raw sound than the two Wasp Filters and a very worthwhile addition. I did try adding a differnt Moog style transistor ladder VCF but the VCS3 filter suited the Pixie much better IMHO. I have added a CGS dual rail power supply which provides the necessary +12v and -9v supply needed for the filter as well as a 5v supply for the Pixie synth.

This is a quite complex build and a certain level of expertise will be needed to fit this to an enclosure..."

"These MIDI Music Hats, seemingly spawned during a drunken three-way between a snowman, the Smurfs and something sprung from the mind of the late Dr. Seuss, are allegedly an art project cooked up by Sunny Oh and Anna Obikane..." That pretty much sums it up.

One Monster Modular

George Mattson's monster EML modular near completion.

You can see two stacked Mattson Mini Modulars to the right of it. The MMM is based on the same circuits of the Performance Music Systems Syntar, which in turn was based on EML circuits built by EML according to George Mattson's specifications. The Syntar was the first keytar with a built in synthesizer produced by George in 1979. See The Syntar on Carbon111.com for some history as well as this post for an interview with George back in April of 2006.

See the Mattson EML label for more.
