Bob Moog's Notebook 1967 - 1969 - Marc Doty Joins the BMF

Marc Doty, aka AutomaticGainsay, who's videos are frequently featured here, has joined The Bob Moog Foundation for the summer. He'll be posting once a week during his stay. His first post is on something quite amazing. What you are looking at is Bob Moog's actual personal notebook from 1967 - 1969.

"It focused on the period between 1967 and 1969, and featured clients with names like 'Siday,' 'Margouleff,' 'Beaver,' 'Zappa,' and 'Carlos.' If you recognize those names and know what happened in that time period, you realize what an incredibly interesting and important document this notebook is. If you don’t recognize those names, they are a few of the artists who brought the synthesizer to the attention of the world… and by doing so, changed it."

via Sebastian Soldier: "It's a song that I made over the name "Sebastian soldier". I use a sequential circuits six trak to make all the song, except the drums (korg 01w). All recorded in a roland vs-880. The lyrics are in Spanish. I like too much the sound from the sixtrak. It only have a chorus and a delay, and sound awesome!!"

"Our buddy Gerald played around with two FT201's (our Analog Filter / 10 Step Sequencer) and crappy but lovely old Moog Satellite synth. A little insight in the general sound, IR motion controller, filter and sequencer functions.

The FT201 Analog Filter / 10-Step Sequencer is our innovative voltage controlled vactrol state variable filter combined with a 10 step sequencer. The FT201 is capable of providing ultra low and high frequency filter effects which are controllable with the on board infrared expression controller, which allows the user to create filter sweeps by moving their feet or hands over the pedal. The FT201 has 3 different filter outputs: bandpass, low pass and high pass, which all work simultaneously. The cutoff frequency range is very large, between 20 Hz and 20 kHz and because of the vactrols used the sound quality is superb. The 10 Step Sequencer runs through the selected amount of steps (2 -- 10 steps) and adds the control voltage to the value set by the Cutoff knob, thus modulating the cutoff frequency in every step.

Just like the BD101, the FT201 can be used as a stand alone pedal, linked to other KOMA Elektronik effect pedals or as a controller for a (modular) synthesizer or other CV receptive electronic instruments. The CV and audio patch bay allows control of the Resonance, Sequencer Reset, Cutoff and gives the user the possibility to synchronize the pedal with an external clock signal."
