We meant to get a YC-45D demo but ran out of time before Paul had to take it with him but there's a good demo at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkGZifhBFBc [below] of it's sounds and the great ring mod preset for the ribbon on that one. The 30 docs are dated 1969 as I recall and the 45D came out in '73 or thereabouts I believe. Always see the yamaha product history link on my page to remove doubt.. Amazing units for their day!"

Roland MC-4 Hack: Work In Progress

"Following on the footsteps of "MC-202 Hack", this is early stage work on Defective Records Software's "MC-4 Hack" application, for the Roland MC-4 sequencer. Will allow you to convert a MIDI file into the audio format required to load a sequence into the MC-4. Can extract up to 4 MIDI channels of data, and map them to the MC-4's 4 channels.

For all those who have ever struggled with programming the MC-4's sequencer, imagine being able to have it crank out Fur Elise in just a few seconds... :-)

I'm currently documenting a restoration of my Oberheim FVS-1 and MS-1A, and have attempted to chronicle some of my past undertakings - a Space Echo motor rebuild/bearing replacement, mono aftertouch customization on my SCI Pro-one, a Minimoog Model D refinish, and others. I have a slew of upcoming projects in the hopper (OB-8, Solina, 5U modular, Rhodes, and GR700 to name a few), and as I get into these I'll be posting tons of photos of the gear inside-and-out, occasional music/sounds, and any relevant technical info in hopes of helping or inspiring others who might be embarking on similar projects. This set was played on Elektron's Machinedrum, Monomachine and Octatrack loaded with samples from Euro Modular, x0xb0x, Nord Rack1 and Waldorf mQ. some extra Nord and Q parts were sequenced on the Octatrack. x0xb0x played live as well. "

I would had liked a dedicated Tempo knob and found the vocoder to be average....and yes there is a Unboxing video a then end of the review.
