Atom™ at Decibel

flickr By niobite "Uwe Schmidt as Atom™, playing his MPC3000 at the Decibel Festival. The right ASCII screen is a projection of his MPC's screen, probably via the IB-CRT video out card. There was a 1U synth or FX unit under the MPC as well." This one in via James

Update: you can see video of Uwe live in 2008 with a similar setup here.

ALESIS MICRON Synthesizer MODULE?

via this auction

"the keyboard section of this synth was crushed by speaker cabinet in the van while on route to a gig..

so to avoid throwing away a perfectly good micron synth brain, the unusable and damaged portion of the synth were carefully removed, and what was left was a perfectly good "Micron Synth Module" which sounds fantastic & works perfect !!

now with some imagination, and a little knowledge of wood trim..you could probably make a more professional base... or box....or cabinet.. or use it as is..."

Custom White Nord Lead 2

via this auction - New Listing

"This synth has been subjected to a total overhaul including all key contacts cleaned, pots lubricated and replaced where necessary and a full bare metal custom refurb. This includes the stunning brilliant white powder coat on the top half and jet gloss black powder coat on the lower half. All metalwork coated inside and out. The powder coating was carried out locally by a specialist and is infinitely better than the original Nord paint both in surface finish and durability. Bespoke screen printing on the top panel and custom vinyl graphics on the lower case and rear. Again the screen printing was carried out by a local firm who have done a great job. The paint used for the screen printing was a 2 part that fuses with the powder coating so should last a lifetime (not like the original Nord legend which is very prone to scratching). It has also has custom hardwood end cheeks.

It has the last OS Eeprom chip inside (1.06).

It includes a very rare and valuable PCMCIA card for storing patches. Without this card the Nord Lead 2 can only store 40 user programs and NO multi-timbral performances. The card adds another 297 user program locations and the ability to store 100 performances.

16 voice polyphonic with 4 separate outputs, 4 independent synths really.

It’s complete with original manual."

"Manufacturer Description:
The VX-351 connects to the Voyager's accessory port with the included detachable cable. It also includes two 4-way mults and two attenuators. Adding this to your Voyager adds the capabilities of a modular synthesizer. Think: if Voyager = infinite sound possibilities, then Voyager + VX-351 = infinity2.

Noisebug (RSS)

"Not only on the outside did he gain weight, also his inner qualities have seen a remarkable step-up: besides the virtual-analog synthesis and the classic wavetables it now sports a whopping 60 megabytes of sample memory. Just imagine to add a vocal-like noise spectrum to a typical Wavetable pad, spice-up a virtual-analog solo sound with a strong attack sample or just process any other sample with the countless oscillator and filter modulations.

Play your sound creations on the high-quality keyboard with velocity and aftertouch. Pitchbend and modulation wheel are at your disposal and, as a matter of course, you can connect a sustain pedal. All this is packaged in a sleek metal enclosure with a big graphic display, endless stainless steel rotaries and an internal power supply.
