"Happy go lucky (but downtempo) tune on the Nintendo Korg DS-10 synthesizer sequencer. I think it's melodic electronica. More DS-10 stuff at http://korgds-10.blogspot.com. Jordan Rudess Tribute to Steve Jobs

YouTube Uploaded by JCRUDESS on Oct 8, 2011

"Although I never met Steve Jobs personally, his work greatly influenced my life and my work. I'm grateful to have been touched by his wizardry and that he shared his vision with all of us. This is a song I wrote for my own iOS instrument called MorphWiz and is a tribute to an amazing and inspirational human being.

iPad in my studio 2: Addictive Synth, Jasuto Pro, NodeBeat & Sylo Synth

YouTube Uploaded by RanKirlian on Oct 9, 2011

"More demos of iPad synths and musical apps that I'm using and enjoying in my studio. You can jump to the demo of each synth by clicking the next times: Addictive Synth (0:07), Jasuto Pro (6:53), NodeBeat (11:33) and Sylo Synth (13:20).
Brief descriptions (from the video text):

* Addictive Synth [iTunes]: dynamic wavetable synthesizer from VirSyn featuring intelligent randomizer for sounds and arpeggios and CoreMIDI support. Having a lot of morph and modulation options, this synth also allows to directly draw the osc wavetables and the filter envelopes. It is great for pads, basses, leads and arpeggios.

* Jasuto Pro [iTunes]: node-based modular synthesizer able to build almost any kind of sound and effect. It contains modules for oscillators, filter, effects, math ops, signal treatment, a complete sampler, a step sequencer and a virtual keyboard. It is one of the most powerful iOS synths I know.

Jasuto uses the relative position of nodes and their connections to control the sound. So the scene not only represents the synthesis structure, but also a custom multi-touch control surface. Motion can be recorded per node giving you rich, flexible automation. Also, you can create entirely new samples by drawing right in the app. It comes installed with more than 45 modules. Each of the modules have been hand-optimized for your devices CPU, allowing you to create extremely complex scenes.

* NodeBeat [iTunes]: it is an experimental node-based audio sequencer and generative music application for iOS. By combining music and playful exploration, NodeBeat allows anyone to create an exciting variety of rhythmic sequences and ambient melodies in a fun and intuitive fashion.

* Sylo Synth [iTunes]: this synth allows you to play music, or create sound effects, using sounds from basic waveforms or using the iPads built-in microphone. It features live time-stretching technology based on granular synthesis and some great FX units: frequency modulation, ring modulation, echo/delay, distortion and a low-pass filter with resonance control.

Sylo Synth is specially great for rare sound effects and drones."

A6 JP8 Live multi-track test

A6 JP8 Live multi-track test by CoolColJ
"Just a quick live multi-track, I did today to put my new Focal speakers through their paces
No EQ, minor delay from the A6, and a little reverb on 2 of the sounds.

The Alesis A6 Andromeda does the arpeggiator, Bass and the high riff on the left.
Everything else is the Jupiter 8.
I just used some A6 sounds I had previously programmed, and the same for the JP8 - a dual mode patch for the chords, but the resonant lead on the right was something I tweaked on the spot in manual mode.

A6 went through Speck Xtramix before going into the DAW. While the JP8 went straight in.

I think they go well together :)"
