CEM Filter demo

CEM Filter demo from Bill Felton on Vimeo.

"This is a quickie demo of the Modcan CEM Low Pass Filter, model 29A. The video was shot under bad lighting conditions that QuickTime had trouble compensating for. Sorry about the image quality, but it is, after all, more about the sound ;-)
Dual VDO provides the input sound, cutoff, resonance, vc of resonance and self-resonance, and the difference between 0 and -12dB modes are shown/heard.
Primarily intended for the audience at Muff Wiggler forum."

Crafting Physynth

Simian has a post up on developing Physynth. The following is just an excerpt so be sure to check out the full post.

"Physynth was a wonderful project to work on, it was a completely original idea and outside the realms of anything any of us had done before.

Our previous experience was rooted heavily in games development so approaching an ‘app’ was naturally challenging. Coming from this entertainment background did however give us the opportunity to imbue Physynth with a different sort of user-experience. Most apps, we believe, feel very utilitarian for no good reason, we decided early on that Physynth had to be beautiful.

Having been designed by the musician of the team, he already had a good few ideas for the actual physical appearance of the device, we looked at a lot of real-world hardware during the research and development phase and Moog was something we kept coming back to. We decided fairly early on that Physynth needed to feel like you’d just found it in your dad’s garage, a real bit of vintage 70’s synth equipment..."

Metasonix R-60 MIDI/CV Interface

via this auction

"Unlike all the other MIDI/CV converters on the market, the R-60 tunes and scales itself. Plug the CV output into the CV input of your VCO, and plug the VCO output (square or pulse waves are best) into the audio input of the R-60. Push the LEARN button. That's all. It automatically sets itself up to control that VCO over the maximum possible range, in perfect equal tempering. The R-60 doesn't care what the CV response of the VCO is - exponential, Hz/V, whatever - it will try to tune it to equal tempering anyway..."

Full details at Metasonix. Auction pic appears to be from there as well.
