Moog Minitaur and Animoog Receive Technical Achievement Nominations for 28th Annual TEC Awards
"Moog Captures Nominations in 'Musical Instrument Technology' and 'Audio Apps for Smartphones & Tablets' Categories
ANAHEIM, Calif. – October 9, 2012 - Moog Music announced that it has been nominated for the 28th Annual TEC Awards in two separate categories: 'Musical Instrument Technology (Hardware)' and a new category, "Audio Apps for Smartphones & Tablets." The TEC Awards is the pro audio industry's most prestigious awards show honoring outstanding achievement in product innovation and sound production. The 28th Annual TEC Awards will be presented during the 2013 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.
Nominations are based on product entries made by a select panel of industry professionals in numerous audio categories. Products must be released and in commercial use during the period of September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012, to be eligible for nomination.
Mike Adams, CEO/President of Moog Music, commented: 'It is a privilege for us to be considered for two TEC Awards this year, especially in the new Smartphone and Tablet Apps category. We are very proud of the work our team has done on both the Minitaur and Animoog and are grateful for this recognition.'
Minitaur: Analog Bass Synthesizer
The Moog Minitaur, which captured a nomination in 'Musical Instrument Technolgy' is a powerful, compact analog bass synthesizer that features a classic one knob per function design. It is the first instrument in Moog's Taurus family that does not have foot pedals. At only 8.5" x 5.25" and less than 3lbs, the Minitaur puts legendary analog Moog bass into a package designed to fit seamlessly into today's performance and production environments.
Animoog: Expressive, Captivating and Sonically Immersive
Animoog, which has been nominated in the new 'Audio Apps for Smartphones & Tablets' category, is powered by Moog’s new Anisotropic Synth Engine (ASE) and is the first professional polyphonic synthesizer designed for the IOS. Animoog captures the vast sonic vocabulary of Moog synthesizers and applies it to the modern touch surface paradigm, enabling a user to quickly sculpt fluid and dynamic sounds that live, breathe, and evolve. Visually captivating and sonically immersive, Animoog brings IOS music production to the next level.

VXXY DCM8 First impressions

VXXY DCM8 First impressions from Equinoxoz music solutions on Vimeo."The VXXY Chip Tune Drum machine or DCM8 as its creators dubbed it is a very fun little groove box. I haven't seen too many videos floating around for it so I figured I would do one starting with just a blank slot and fill it up "on the fly"
You can create TONS of grooves with this thing and the sounds are all very arcadey and retro which makes it inspiring to work with. It has a few performance options in it and the way it is programmed is akin to some of the classic XOX style TR Drum machines.
I merely scratched the surface in this video and I will do more video's on it with other gear to give an idea what it sounds like 'in the mix'."

1939 RCA STORYTONE PIANO - Worlds First Electric Piano

"An extremely rare and historically important instrument, the RCA Storytone piano was built in 1939 in a joint venture between Story & Clark and RCA. It is the world's first electric piano, and it debuted at the 1939 World's Fair, which was truly a great event for musical instruments -- the similarly famous Hammond Novachord, the world's first polyphonic tube synthesizer debuted there in 1939 as well.

The piano has normal strings and action but no soundboard -- the sound is amplified through electromagnetic pickups, circuitry and a speaker system, making it the world's first commercial electric piano. It works especially well for sustained styles of playing, as notes can last up to a minute or more with its unique form of resonance. It sounds more authentic and much more like a real piano than a Rhodes, Wurlitzer or Helpinstill, and sounds richer, fuller, and thicker than a Yamaha CP-70 or Kawai EP-308. It really is the king of all electric pianos, save for transportability.

Even better, it has an art deco/streamline design that rivals that of the finest furniture of the era. This piano has been refinished and restored and is in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. It also comes with its original bench, which has also been refinished, reupholstered, and restored. Please note that we did not replace the keytops, which are original, because they look better than new keytops would.
Please note that the shipping cost is an estimate and that the actual shipping cost to the buyer will vary based on the buyer's location. For instance, moving this to the east coast would cost $590, while moving this within the Los Angeles metro area would cost $125."

ROLAND SH-5
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

"Offered for sale is this Roland SH-5 in exceptional cosmetic condition and perfect working order.
It's an awesome synth and quite unlike many of the other Roland SH series - more like a compact System 100.

There are a few scuffs and minor nicks in the outer casing, but otherwise this synth is in amazing condition (please see detailed photos below). It has had one owner from new and has obviously been very well cared-for. The pots/sliders feel like new - it would appear to have had very little use.
It has been checked over, tuned and PAT tested for electrical safety by James Walker at Synth Repair Services and is in excellent working order - all pots move smoothly and noiselessly and all pots, switches and knobs function exactly as they should - it is a joy to play and program..."
