Quantum Mechanics

"My DIY modular (mostly Yusynth) doing Autechre-style beats. A not quite finished Barton Simple CV Quantizer providing notes for the Bass line. The output of the modular is feed into my custom built tube overdrive unit (based on the 'Real McTube II' by Fred Nachbaur) before being feed into the Kurzweil Mangler where excessive Reverb/Delay is applied.

No sequencers, computer or analogue, are used in this recording"

A-155 random drum pattern

A-155 random drum pattern from N K on Vimeo.

"Doepfer A-155 sequencer's trigger row outputs trigger three different drum sounds made with the modular (kick, hihats, and snare). These sounds, along with a simple tonal sequence from the A-155 CV row 1 output, are heard from 0:00-0:17. Around 0:18, I add a 4/4 909 kick (and later a simple 808 snare/clap pattern) to provide a base rhythm. The 6-step A-155 trigger pattern is reset every 16 steps. One LFO changes the A-155 direction from forward to random, and another changes the pattern's first step from 1 to 5. These two LFOs are almost fully to the right of the middle row of modules pictured, and you can just make out the lights corresponding to the snare rolls and random fills. A few tonal sounds were added to the example to show how the drum patch might sound in practice."

Update via Nicholas: "I've amended my post, fixed a link in the wrong place, added a pic at the top, and explained a bit how the using MAQ as the clock source can make the pattern even more complex."

ARP 2600 Demos by reeg2600

"Here is a series of short videos designed to highlight some of the different sounds available on the ARP2600. These are mostly (so far) leads rather than effects. The only sound processing is through a Boss RE-20 Space Echo. I don't claim to be an expert on this synth; I just like these sounds and wanted to show just a little of what it can do. Enjoy."

"This ARP Axxe is in amazing, near Mint condition and comes with the very rare plug in expression pedal. This ARP Axxe plays beautifully with no sticky or broken keys and all slider controls move very smoothly and are not stiff like alot of ARPs. The cosmetic condition is amazing with all slider caps intact and no scratches or blemishes in the wood sides. All functions on this synthesizer have been tested and work great. This Axxe is the model 2313, the first generation Axxe with the famous Moog ladder filter, which when combined with the optional expression pedal I've included puts out some truly awesome sounds..."

"Jam here using a rig I brought along to Armidale, I quite like this configuration because it has allot of distinct voicings but also multiple sequencers/clocking devices.

Not really demoing anything in particular but the Frequency Central Waverider into an Abstract Data ADE20 is performing the bassline duties, its melody is being played via the Dinsync MODSEQ into the Quantimator, and of course being plucked by the Frequency Central System X ADSR."
