C.24 - The Music Keyboard for iPad

C.24 - The Music Keyboard for iPad from Miselu on Vimeo.

You might remember Miselu from their stand alone touch screen keyboard with the Korg Polysix (see the Miselu label for all posts).  They are now developing a two octave wireless keyboard for the iPad that doubles as a cover.  It's an innovative design which you will see in these videos and the description below.  They are seeking funding for the device on www.miselu.com/kickstarter.

"The C.24 is a two octave wireless music keyboard designed for iPad. The ultra portable C.24 transforms from a protective cover into a piano-style keyboard at the touch of a spring-loaded latch.

"Keyboard performance

The use of anti-polarity magnets creates the semi-weighted feel of the keyboard. By using magnets instead of traditional springs reliability and longevity are extended.

Each key press is sensed by an infrared emitter detector pair providing real time analog position data. Optical key tracking technology delivers MIDI velocity, monophonic aftertouch as well as detailed performance capabilities.

Capacitive modulation

Just above the keyboard is the capacitive ribbon controller. The ribbon extends across the width of the keyboard and is divided into two regions, each with 32 embedded LEDs for visual feedback. The left region is configured to function as eight buttons, by default assigned to shift the keyboard’s octave assignment. The right region is designed for analog expression such as pitch bend.

We didn't stop at keys and ribbon controls…

Our team designed an open standard for hardware expansion modules.Tactile controls such as knobs, faders and XY pads will be available in the future. This allows you to configure your C.24 based on your performance requirements. Third parties have already started work on innovative modules.

Communication and compatibility

The C.24 communicates to the iPad via Bluetooth Low Energy. We developed an open standard for CoreMIDI over Bluetooth. This technology can be used by any developer to transmit and receive MIDI wirelessly to compatible iOS devices.

KEY app

Miselu’s KEY application makes it possible to use Bluetooth devices to make music. KEY allows you to assign your keyboard’s output to any CoreMIDI compatible iOS application. You can also save presets, allowing you to quickly change your setup during a performance."

TAL-BassLine-101 Released

"Introductory price of 40$ for the first 2 months after release date. We will change the price for TAL-BassLine-101 and TAL-U-NO-LX to 60$ after the introductory period.

TAL-BassLine-101 is a monophonic bass synthesizer with a classic analogue sound. The GUI is intuitive and easy to use. It produces the raw sound you know from analogue devices without any effects.
BassLine has a very smooth and authentic analogue sounding 24dB zero feedback delay resonance low pass filter. Especially designed and calibrated for extreme settings. It sounds even smooth with a lot resonance and a high oscillator pitch.
Details as envelope transitions between overlapping notes are carefully modeled. The oscillators do not use any samples. BassLine generates all wave-forms in real time.

Self resonating zero feedback delay filter (24dB LP).
Calibrated and tuned after our hardware device.
Midi learn / automation for all controls.
Alias free oscillators for an authentic sound also @ 44'100Hz sampling rate.
Arpeggiator with different sync modes (host, midi clock, not on).
Original (RC) and linear portamento mode.
Built in arpeggiator with some additional modes.
Powerful step sequencer with up to 64 steps and recording option.
6 voice poly mode.
Sequencer MIDI export with drag and drop.
Sequencer / arpeggiator MIDI out for VSTi version.
De-Clicker mode for slower envelopes :/
More than 300 presets.
All sample rates supported."

Cyrusrex (USA) – Sync-Gen IILS – Depeche Mode Tour Support

via Innerclock Systems where you'll find more pics.

"I used your Sync-Gen IILS module during our recent tour as support for Depeche Mode which went really well.

Here are some pre-tour test shots, a couple of shots from the actual shows and some sound-check setup shots. Finally a shot from a live show/modular synth Q+A lecture in Copenhagen where we talked about your module. The Sync-Gen IILS module and Sync-Gen II software was completely stable and was the center Tempo-Clock distribution for all of our equipment. It was vital to our success on the tour providing rock solid sync to the Modular, MIDI clock to the Delay pedals, and Din-Sync to the Devilfish TB303.

The TronPi - A Raspberry Pi Mellotron Emulator

Published on Nov 2, 2012 Marc Girard·17 videos

"The TronPi is a Mellontron Emulator based on the 35$ Raspberry Pi computer. It has the 4 classic Tron sounds: Choir, Strings, Brass and Flute. The TronPi is controlled with a standard USB/MIDI Keyboard and doesn't have any perceptible latency.

All the audio in this video was taken straight from the Raspberry PI's audio output, no further processing was added to the source. It's straight out of the computer. The reverb ambience you hear on the recordings is built in the sampler and adjustable.

The computer boots in 30 seconds or so. It supports MIDI program changes and once loaded, program changes are instant, no lag.

Comments are welcome,

Marc Girard
