"This was one of the first times I'd played the Modular/Mini combination together. Getting the CV and triggers set up took a little doing. I even had to build an interface circuit for the S-trig connection before I could get it all to work properly."

"So I went to GC today to 'test drive' the King Korg to get my free T-Shirt. I was having lots of fun controlling its decimator in real time. I asked the sales person if you could control it from an EG and the reply was 'I don't think so'.

Ah, but you can with the Solaris. Here's a simple patch using the 'Jaws' waveform (supersaw) while I tweak EG2 to modulate the decimator. Not anything super musical, but just a quick demonstration of just a taste of the Solaris' modulation capabilities."

"A fellow VSE'r was wanting to know how to sync his JP-8's arpeggiator to his DMX. I don't know of any way to do that directly without another piece of gear in between to convert clock pulses.

The Garfield Electronics Modulator can program trigger pulse rhythms up to 2 measures synched to 24ppq DIN, 24, 48 or 96ppq phone jack."

Doug Lynner at The Woodshed South Bay - Potential New Synth Venue

Doug Lynner will be performing at The Woodshed in the South Bay, San Jose area with the modular systems pictured.  Mike Dietrich will be covering visuals.  If there's a good enough turn out, the location could be open to future synth performances.  If you are in the area, do your best to show up.  Not only will you get to see some modular gear live with a light show, but you'll be helping the cause.

"I have a very special synth concert coming up on Aug 16th in Los Gatos at The Woodshed. My performance on modular synthesizers, keyboard and guitar will be accompanied by visual artist Mike Dietrich using creative lighting with multidimensional projection mapping and computer-generated images. This show is also important because there aren't great venues for electronic and experimental music down in the South Bay (San Jose area) and if we can get a decent audience to this night we can open one up for future synthesizer performances.
