See some of the other creations here. Most are pretty creative cases, but there are other mods including MIDI Arduino sync, booklight, keytar, pitch bender, etc. Thought the robot stand below was pretty cool.

"This one is a very rare model with cool Reversed Color Keys!
The unit appears to be working reasonably well, I noticed sliders on BEND and SEQUENCER SPEED has bad contacts and you would need to push in to have them respond, which could probably do with some adjustment/servicing. Otherwise, all the keys and buttons and the joystick working fine, including writing/editing program and sequencer functions."

"NO drilling/filing or butchering of any kind are required to install this display in a keyboard or rack VS. this oled is a direct replacement for the old display, it has the same uncommon pcb layout as the standard lcd its replacing. the dimensions and mounting holes are identical, simply remove the old lcd, then reattach the new oled. like my other displays, the colour and contrast can be adjusted (as illustrated with the red oled pics) I will show you how to achieve this. there will be two wires for the old el foil 15+16, these should be trimmed flush + discarded ! the oled ONLY requires pins 1-14. i will include some chemwick to mop up the solder on the board after you remove the old pins + display, ill include also some furutech solder, this solder melts at low temperature and flows very nicely, it is superior to the wbt stuff for this type of work. There is no reason why anyone couldn't do this mod, everything you need is supplied.display will ship with the pins already attached, take care and handle it by the edges and make sure your earthed before hand to prevent any static charge !
**i have red oleds in the same size, if youd prefer one of those, add that info @ checkout, otherwise i will ship a blue one. blue is the default setting for the listing**
The last pics show the old display mounted, then removed and the new oled installed. that time customer desoldered the old display and reused the old pins, this is not necessary anymore, the oled will be delivered with pins attached. you simply cut the old pins between the display and board and then desolder the pins one by one. in order to remove the pins one at a time they must be seperated from each other, do this by cutting the plastic seal between each one, they will then release off the board with minimum fuss and more importantly minimum heat. the last pic on the listing shows the board stripped clean + ready for the new oled + pins. soldering iron should be sharpened up like a pencil, tinned + clean. its no good for doing this type of work if the tip resembles the end of your little finger. if youve got one with a plated tip, borrow a file from your grandad and remove the plating until its copper and then use tip tinner. a lil trick you can do is pop the tip in a drill and use the file to sharpen it. when you go to use it, youll find the whole process of heating/removing solder with the chemwick and a sharp tinned copper tip, works much more efficiently, meaning less heat required to the delicate board ! less heat means less chance of any damage !"
