"For sale is this vintage (early 70s) Logan String Melody. This is the much rarer Mark One model, and is also the only example I've ever seen which isn't built into its own flight case, which leads me to believe that it's probably one of the very first ones made.

It's not in fantastic visual condition, with dings and scuffs all over it, and the metal plate on the control panel peeling away, but it's complete and it sounds gorgeous. There's plenty of information and demos available elsewhere online if you want to hear it for yourself.

Functionally the only two faults to mention are that the low G key doesn't sound the Perc., Bass or Cello, but still sounds with Viola and Violin added to the mix, and also the very top C key doesn't sound at all. These are both likely to be dirty contacts but I've never bothered looking into it any further as it's never caused me any problems.

Selling only due to lack of space and my recent purchase of a Korg PE-2000, which has rendered the Logan somewhat obsolete. I'd rather let it go and let someone else get some use out of it."

"Demo of a mid 60's Vox Guitar Organ----a rare and strange hybrid instrument that incorporated a Vox Continental organ and a Phantom guitar."

"This is a very rare and all original 1960's Vox Guitar Organ Model V251. Comes with with case, all accessories, and original hang tag! Super clean conditionj, just amaazing! Everything obn this unit seems to be in good working order except the repeater section is extremely faint, alsmost not there, so it will need some service. A great addition to any collection.

MORE INFO:

The Vox Guitar Organ was one of the most complicated and innovative products attempted by JMI Vox in the 1960s. The brain child of Vox lead engineer Dick Denney, the Guitar Organ added solid state organ circuitry derived from the Vox Continental organ to a Vox Phantom guitar. This allowed the Guitar Organ to be played as a guitar or an organ, either separately or combined.
The Vox Guitar Organ had six organ tone generator circuits built into a cavity in the guitar body, one generator for each of the six strings. The contacts that trigger the organ circuits to play were found in the frets of the guitar. Each fret on the guitar neck had six electronic contacts, one under each string. The circuit to the organ tone generator was completed when any of the guitar strings, which were grounded, were depressed to touch their respective fret mounted contact.

The organ tone generators developed different pitches based on the number of ohms separating the organ tone generator input signal from ground. The higher the electrical resistance, the lower the tone.

To facilitate the production of the correct organ pitch for each location on the neck, a series of twenty one resistors interconnected the twenty one fret contacts under each string, one resistor per fret. Depressing a string on the first (or lowest) fret would cause the signal to travel through all twenty one resistors before triggering the organ tone generator. Hypothetically, if each resistor was 100 ohms, the total accumulated resistance from the first fret contact to the tone generator would be 2100 ohms. This high resistance would make the lowest tone. Depressing the same string on the twelfth fret would require the signal to travel through only 9 resistors, or 900 ohms. This lower resistance would make a much higher tone. Playing on the highest fret would eliminate all but one resistor, and make the highest tone.

A remote power supply (seen at lower left) provided the necessary voltages to operate the organ circuitry and connected to the instrument with a multi pin connector cable."

Devil Fish & TR-606 Dynamic Bank Switching 69er

Published on Dec 28, 2015 TB-303 Devil Fish

"Devil Fish and Roland TR-606 sending and receiving CV with each other in a 69er type fashion, via slew and attenuator Eurorack modules to switch between 4 Banks each. This creates rhythmic and melodic changes automatically leaving my hands free to tweak and work with other things. I also use the red Bank and red Accent buttons on the Devil Fish and 606 which sometimes changes both machines Bank state at the same time depending on what triggers are being sent from the patterns (great for freaked out fills).
The 606 sends a CV trigger from the High Tom to a slew unit, an attenuator then to the Devil Fishes DBS CVin 1, it also sends audio from the Headphone Out to a 12 stage frequency divider, an attenuator then to the Devil Fishes DBS CVin 2 this has the most effect when the Cymbals volume are turned up.
The Devil Fish is sending CV Out to an attenuator then to the 606's DBS CVin 1, it also sends Accent Out directly to the 606's CVin 2.
The Eurorack modules are clocked by the 606's audio via the 12 stage frequency divider and from the Devil Fishes Gate Out, the two sound source modules are the Make Noise Phonogene(ACID sample) and Epoch Modular Benjolin both being controlled and triggered by the Make Noise Rene and Intellijel Metropolis, the Metropolis is also modulating the Cutoff frequency of the Intellijel uVCF which the Benjolin and Phonogene are being filtered by, and the Metropolis is also modulating the Cutoff Frequency of the Devil Fish.
Various effect pedals are used and all audio is routed through the Roland TR-8 with Scatter effects used (the TR-8 allows the audio to be recorded into Abelton Live via USB). All played live with no computer or MIDI sequencing."

Jupiter and TR-808 Clones - A Memory (tiergrinders adaptation)

Published on Dec 28, 2015 tiergrinder

"This is my adaptation from Mulperi's song called A Memory. I came across with this song at D16 VST synth makers website.

Main synth : Jupiter Clone
Bass and Arpeggio : SH-101
Drums : TR-808 Clone
Noise swoosh : SH01 Gaia

Sorry for the poor playing. Like I've commented before, I'm a synth builder and l love the classic synths and their sounds. So this is a sound demo, not a keyboard playing showcase :D"

Walking on the Clouds ;)

Published on Dec 28, 2015 Alba Ecstasy

"This video is about Clouds. This famous (sorry about the first typo - geeez) texture synthesiser.
You don’t even need a serious audio input to feed it, because it’s capable of amazing this by itself. Still:

I used the self oscillation of Ripples to generate the sound, where Cutoff is modulated by Z3000 as LFO with square and Resonance with sawtooth.

The sine of Z3000 is also feeding the FM of Ripples.

I used BP2 and LP4 to feed (through the DVCA) Clouds’ inputs.

Doepfer’s gate, through MFB ADSR is controlling Freeze and Position.
Doepfer’s CV out is controlling the Clouds’ Pitch.

LFO Z3000’s sine to Clouds’ Texture and triangle to Density.
Recorded in Logic Pro."
