HOW I ARRANGE: After I've created a loop that I like I just launch/mute tracks and tweak parameters rather than consciously lay everything out. This way the whole process stays fun which for me is the key. I may do a more detailed tutorial on this.
With all the gear options out there I also like sticking with one program and Korg gadget is perfect for what I want to do. If you don't know what it is here is my own overview:
Korg gadget is a complete IPAD electronic music workstation - like a propellerhead's Reason for mobile.
To make music you just pick any of the following 'gadgets' from within the program and start composing:
Drum machines/Drum Samplers
London: drum sound module Gadget designed specifically for dance music but with the right FX can fit any style really. Has 8 Tracks.
Tokyo: 4 track analog-type drum sound module with lots of tweak potential. Sounds great with London.
Bilbao: One-shot sampler (up to 2 bar length samples but mainly aimed at drum hits) 16 tracks. Import your own sounds! Basic FX though
Abu Dhabi: 1 bar loop player. (Again import your own loops) Lots of glitch potential
.
Amsterdam: 4 slots for variety of drum hits and sound FX. Factory library only
Gladstone: 20 acoustic drum kits
Synths/pitched instruments
Chicago: think 303.
Kamata and Kingston: Chiptune
Darwin and Marseille: M1 and GM sound module
Glasgow: Synth strings and Triton sounds
Madrid: Real sounding acoustic and electric bass
Salzburg: Multi-sampled grand piano
Brussels & Miami: monophonic modern sounding bass/lead synths Can pump and bass wobble
Wolfsburg & Phoenix: Polyphonic synths (wolfsburg like a modern VST and phoenix like a prophet 5)
Berlin: Arp Odyssey
Dublin: Semi modular synth
Chiangmai: Bell type sounds
Helsinki: Absynth like ambient polyphonic synth
Montreal, Alexandria & Firenze: Real sounding electric piano and organs
Kiev: Vector synthesis.
Insert FX, comp and EQ on every track plus global reverb send. Independent MIDI channels on each track. IPAD AIR and above at least 20 tracks. Most of my songs use about 10.

"An interesting patch of the Mutable Instruments Rings and Clouds with feedback routing through an Echophon and Music Thing Spring Reverb. The Pressure Points was sending a T-Gate trigger to Rings and CLouds trigger inputs. Also two rows of CV to the 1v/oct inputs.
Clouds was in Parasite Resonator mode. Rings in 'string' mode.
The third row of Pressure Points was sending CV to channel 1 Maths both A/R control, which was in loop or LFO mode sending a modulation to the Echophon pitch input.
Feedback was from the Rings Even out to Echophon then back into Clouds. Clouds right channel out to Spring Reverb and back into Rings IN. Rings Odd out to one channel of Z-DSP and Clouds left channel in to the other input of Z-DSP. The Halls of Valhalla dsp was used. Both channels sent to Intellijel Azimuth for final output.
Finally a Pressure Points pressure CV was sent to the Rings Frequency input as negative pitch bend modifier."
