"I'm guessing at 1975 but it is a mkI generation due to the lack of access panels on the bottom for the j wire triggers. Everything seems to function properly. That being said it is a vintage synth and there's no guaranteeing no ghosts in the machine. As a vintage synth it takes a bit of time to warm up. The mod wheel works as does the pitch bend ribbon even as worn as it is like every other one I've seen..."

"Up for sale is a 1986 Akai ax73 Analog Synthesizer from 1986. This is a very underrated synth. If you haven't seen this in action, check out a couple YouTube clips of it and you'll be amazed. It's extremely versatile. It can do all of the retro string and brass sounds as well as huge sounding basses for dance or dub step music. It's got midi as well and that's always a plus. There is an auto tune function that comes in VERY handy, but my favorite feature is that you can switch the modes from Poly, Duo, or Unison. When in unison mode, you have all six oscillators going at the same time! The lead and bass sounds when in this mode are truly thunderous."

"Ensoniq ESQ-1 in excellent condition. Very clean. Fully functional, no issues. Comes with ESQ Voice-80 Vol. 1 cartridge which has 80 voices in addition to the 40 factory internal preset voices (note that the cartridge voices can not be overwritten like the internal voices). Light wear, and light scuffing of the end cheeks (see photos). Firmware version 2.30."

"Excellent condition. I refurbished the keyboard, so no clicking or sticking of keys. In fact, I used the newer one piece green contact strip, instead of the older two-piece. Everything works as far as I can tell from running diagnostics and playing. Sliders, knobs, and buttons work well. Power cord included.

This JD has the small mod that lightens up the aftertouch, so you don't have to press as hard to get the aftertouch to sound."

70s Synths & Amen Breaks on iPad

Published on Nov 7, 2016 redskylullaby

"15 years ago it probably would have cost upwards of $15,000 to buy the hardware synths needed to make all these sounds. We live in good times. This is just a little jam done on iPad with a bunch of very reasonably priced synth apps:

Odyssei by Korg (Arp Odyssey - 1972) [iTunes]
iVCS3 by Apesoft (EMS VCS3 - 1969) [iTunes]
iMini by Arturia (Minimoog - 1970) [iTunes]

Also used Auria Pro Daw and Sector for the drums
Video also includes preview of iVCS3 Audio Unit (Coming in v2 late 2016) using iVCS3 as an effect unit"

A bassline with the Korg Mono/Poly.

Published on Nov 7, 2016 Jordan Passmore

"In this video I am playing back a sequenced bassline into the Korg Mono/Poly while tweaking some settings on the synth's front panel. The sequencer is the Arturia Keystep, the drum machine is Funkbox (Drumulator set), the delay effecting the Korg is the Alesis Ineko and the mixer is a Roland M-16E. No EQ was used on the Korg. I recorded the main mix on a Roland Super UA audio interface."

"Just a few pictures from the Brighton Modular Meet. Only really got odd bits of footage from the event but I always like to try and share things from the UK events as people always seem to say 'I didn't know this was evening happening'. "
