XAOC Belgrad Demo

Published on Dec 19, 2016 Perfect Circuit Audio

"The XAOC Belgrad is a new step in the development of musical dual-peak filters, offering unprecedented ease of use and clarity of control for everything from standard filter sweeps to formant-like snarls to resonant whistling.

Belgrad offers control of balance and frequency displacement of its two resonant peaks, with master controls for center frequency and resonance unlike some of its predecessors. Combine this with its ten filter modes and variety of CV inputs and you have a powerful tool ready to shape your tone in a variety of ways, from standard lowpass, highpass, and bandpass behaviors to more exotic forms of coloration."

"This is one of the first 500 JP-8's ever manufactured! The condition is excellent, with some wear, but otherwise in perfect playing shape. Recently refurbished to replace some caps and switches, it is up to original specs. I used this exclusively for the Glen Campbell show in the mid 80's, used on the road and on 24 episodes of the Glen Campbell Show from 1982-83. It was given to me when the band was broken up. This comes with the Roland MB-8 Midi-DCB & interface mod. Also (Optional) FREE Anvil case for traveling (Seen some road travel) Shipping will be adjusted for weight.. The Jupiter-8 includes balanced stereo XLR outputs as well as unbalanced 1/4" outputs. In addition to monophonic and polyphonic modes, the Jupiter-8 includes a unique polyphonic unison mode, in which all 16 oscillators can be stacked onto one note but divide down if more keys are pressed. No other polyphonic synthesizer at the time had this feature. The posted video shows true detail, any scratches are clearly visible. This video is in two sections: the first 7 minutes show sound samples and programming, the last 5 minutes shows closeup physical inspection on the surface of the unit."

"This is an amazing synth, considered the ultimate FM synth Yamaha ever offered, 8 operators and very unique formant filters, this rack will give you unheard of sounds you can't get anywhere else. I don't think even software plugins have caught up with all the capabilities this unit offers. A must have for modern edm productions needing that unique edge. Don't miss out!"

Ambient Frippertronics Acoustic Guitar with MS-20 Mini

Published on Dec 19, 2016 Stephen Hummel

"Episode 3 of the 'Circuits and Strings' series from subtractiveLAD aka: Stephen Hummel.

I wanted to try a Frippertronics-style jam but using an acoustic guitar, instead of the more conventional electric guitar.

My Taylor 310ce is electroacoustic so I am able to patch it directly into my pedalboard, which can be pretty inspiring. I have tuned the Taylor to DADGAD. For this performance I have the guitar running into my Ernie Ball VP Jr, then into the Strymon TimeLine and then into the Walrus Audio Descent reverb pedal. My pedalboard is then patched directly to my Boss RE-20 Space Echo, which is functioning as my tape looper for this jam. The Space Echo is set to a delay time of somewhere in the neighborhood of 7 seconds to achieve the looping effect. During the performance, you will see me shifting the parameters of the Descent with an expression pedal and tweaking the settings on the TimeLine and Space Echo to achieve various spacial effects. I performed an overdub on the Korg MS-20 Mini to add low frequency accents - the synth is also going through the Space Echo but used only as a simple delay. Some additional mixing/subtle processing was done in Reaper."
