"The Electronic Production and Design Department at Berklee is proud to present the Voltage Connect Conference, which will be held on March 10 and 11, 2017. The conference is themed “Pioneers, Players, Thinkers, Purveyors” and will examine the development and direction of electronic instruments, from early commercial synthesizers in the 1970s to the present and beyond. The conference connects researchers, established and emerging companies, and performers who are committed to the development and use of electronic instruments.

Since the first commercial release of synthesizers, we’ve seen an enormous change in what an electronic instrument actually is, from analog to digital, hardware to software, and back again, all driven by technological innovation and imagination. This two-day conference will consist of panel discussions, presentations, technology demos, and performances that explore how electronic instruments are developed and used. A product expo will run concurrently with the conference proceedings.

The conference will feature keynote performers Jordan Rudess, keyboardist of prog rock band Dream Theater, and electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani.

Keynote speakers for the conference will be David Friend, cofounder of the ARP Instruments company; Marcus Ryle, president of Line 6; and Daniel Haver, CEO of Native Instruments."

Endless (Live tech-house on Elektron Analog Four, RYTM, and Octatrack)

"Wrote this little tune for my friend SAI aka var. Was inspired by a wicked ravey chord line and tried to replicate a similar sound on Analog Four. Didn't turn out quite as nice as the original MC-909 sound, but I think it works in the context of this little beat :)

This one in via Soviet Space Child. Uli Behringer mentioned the possibility of a Minimoog clone coming from Behringer in this previous post. We now have renders and the following details:

"This is a first draft of our 'D' Synth with a proposed feature set below.

Our goal is to design in a Poly Chain feature that allows combining up to 16 synths through Midi.

Depending on the feedback we will then decide if we move further and build a first prototype.

Our targeted retail price is around US$ 400.
