Bass Station 2 "paraphony" trick

Published on Feb 1, 2017 Comparative Irrelevance

"Thought I'd share this little trick I like to use on the Bass Station 2. (explained below)

A neat thing about the digital controls on this synth, is that they make it really easy to tune your modulation to musical intervals (especially since the screen shows actual semi-tone steps instead of generic 7bit MIDI values).

In this example I have OSC2 tuned a minor third above OSC1, and I'm using the mod wheel to change the interval to a major third. In principle, this could be any two intervals that you can flip between, essentially letting you play some two-note chords on this mono synth."

"Pedal Steel" Bass Station

"Not very cloudy outside today, but there's plenty of clouds in the modular. Also featuring some "pedal steel" sounds on the BS2."

"Roland Jupiter 4 completely overhauled. Every pot, switch and fader has been removed, cleaned and replaced. Power supply regulated and voice cards serviced and tuned. This keyboard sounds great and is ready for studio use. This is one of the original keyboards from 80's band Kids In The Kitchen, and was used to record hits such as Change In Mood. It has been on the road and has surface scratches, but no dings or damage. Keyboard itself plays well and no damage. Buy a piece of Aussie Rock History!"

"This was the flagship electric piano back in the late 80's/90's. This is also a sampling synth.

88 weighted keys. All keys sound but I would recommend having a tech spray all the contacts and go over all the functions and wiring. The sustain pedal sticks sometimes and needs sprayed and cleaned."
