Dreamy Continuum + Octatrack Live Improv @Volda Animation Festival 2017

Published on Sep 18, 2017 cuckoomusic

"The Volda animation student festival invited me to talk about my background as an animator. After my talk I performed an improvised piece with the Continuum Fingerboard expressive synthesiser, an Octatrack for live sampling/ looping, and a Strymon Blue Sky reverb.

It is totally improvised (apart from the rhythms that were pre-programmed). While some phrases went down ok, some didn't. Regardless I decided to put up the whole piece unedited."

"Really quick demo of just one lead sound in the Access Virus TI. Not playing anything good but just a quick video to show the sound. Recorded straight into logic through an apogee duet."

"This is the rack version of the amazing Nord Lead 3 virtual analog synth. Excellent condition and works great. Also includes rack ears, original power cable, and manual!

Clavia did something really cool with this synth that it didn't do with any of the other Nord Leads, before or since, and that's the super cool LED graphic rotary encoder knobs on this version. Also, the full LCD screen lets you save patch names instead of just numbers like the previous versions of the synths. And this are just some of the extra features.

Some of what Clavia says about the NL3....

With the Nord Lead 3 Clavia takes Virtual Analog to a higher level and introduces the Advanced Subtractive Performance Synthesizer. ‘Advanced Subtractive’ because of the extremely flexible sound engine, featuring a combination of traditional shapable waveforms and a very intuitive 2 or 4 operator FM engine. All this can be routed through the high quality multi filter for further shaping. ‘Performance Synthesizer’ because of its unsurpassed user interface and play control functions such as: keyboard hold, parallel polyphonic glide in legato mode, single-key triggering of whole chords and even clusters of slightly detuned voices for super-unison effects. The Nord Lead 3 also has four separate Morph groups. The Morph function lets you continuously control defined ranges of up to 26 parameters in a sound, using only a single control source. This lets you produce radical changes to a sound in a very fast and easy way."

Rheyne - Sequenced Jam #52 (Morphagene as a stereo delay)

Published on Sep 17, 2017 Rheyne

"Using the Make Noise Morphagene as a stereo delay for both VCOs of a DPO. The left input is VCO A, with FM from one of the VCOs of a Moog DFAM, faded-in with a channel from Maths to the carrier-in of a modDemix, triggered by a Tempi. The right input is VCO B, with FM from a 0-Coast, faded-in using the slope output to the Dynamics input, triggered by a different channel on the Tempi. Two Mother-32 sequencers control the pitch of both VCOs on the DPO.

The bass swells are from a Noise Engineering LIP, with an Erica Synths Black VC EG controlling filter swells on a Dave Smith Curtis Filter, with all four tone controls of the LIP modulated by an Erica Synths Octasource. The pad is from a third Moog Mother-32. Both of these voices run through an Erica Synths Black Hole DSP for additional reverb. Reverb on the main mix is from a Strymon BigSky.

No outside MIDI or DAW was used, all notes and modulations are from the synths."
