Demo track of Parallel Worlds & Dave Bessell's upcoming release, Dystopia DiN56.
Parallel Worlds & Dave Bessell Dystopia DiN56
Release date 21st September 2018
Limited to 500 copies. Digipak CD format. Bar code 5028423180562
The names of both Parallel Worlds and Dave Bessell should be very familiar by now to followers of the DiN ambient electronica label. Bakis Sirros (aka Parallel Worlds) has two solo albums, Obsessive Surrealism (DiN26), Shade (DiN32) as well as collaborations with DiN label boss Ian Boddy on Exit Strategy (DiN37) and most recently World Adapter (DiN48) with Self Oscillate (Ingo Zobel). Bessell on the other hand has a single solo album Black Horses Of The Sun (DiN47) as well as his contributions to the two synth supergroup Node releases (Node 2 (DiN44) & Node Live (DiN55)). Of course the duo have already collaborated before on their 2012 album, “Morphogenic” (DiN41) and “Dystopia” sees these two musicians continue their sonic dialogue.
Track titles such as “Cipher”, “Mutagen” and “Devoid” as well as the album title leaves one in no doubt that you are entering a dark and foreboding sound world. Indeed Bessell quotes the infamous novel “Neuromancer” by William Gibson as a major influence. Bakis Sirros as ever weaves his intricate modular rhythms that seem to squirm and writhe underneath vast slabs of analogue chords that rise and fall like cities. Indeed the album is very dynamic with complex, almost classical arrangements that constantly shift under ones feet. Amongst this Bessell introduces some fleeting guitar work as well as his adventurous analogue physical modelling sound design. Seeming to inhabit a netherworld between dark electronica and progressive synth these two musicians have once again created an album that just doesn’t sound like anyone else out there. Join them for a unique sonic adventure.

Riders on the storm - (Moog Subsequent 37, KORG grandstage)

"If you like my stuff please support me on http://music.ollilab.com/ and https://www.patreon.com/theBURG
I have not made music for some time due to holidays, travels etc, and when this happens I tend to fall into the black hole of writers block.
One of the things that I try to do to get back up is just jam and jam and jam, like with this one do sort of a cover track. Making a cover song helps (me) to take a lot of pressure off on the creative side of things.. e.g it lets you just work with the song that is already there.
I get it, singing and stuff is not what i normally do, however for this cover version there was no instrumental way of making this happen. So yeah... here it it, a cover song, by yours truly, singing and all :D
This is all done in one take, with multiple cams.. so the mixing of the vocals and stuff might be a bit off.. but hey thats what you get whey you jam right?
Gear used: Moog subsequent 37 for the main bass + RE-20 delay and Strymon bluesky reverb. KORG grandstage + eventide space reverb, ditto x2 looper, catalinbread CSIDMAN, red panda particle. ms-20 mini + strymon el capistan (analogue storm sound), clavia nord lead A1 (slow arpeggios and resonant synth rain).
I hope you will like it.. and hey, YES there is a LOT of noise.. my aircon had to be turned on (it is hot as hell) .. so you will hear a lot of ambient background stuff. (maybe even my chair creaking).
BoooM!"

"Being a MIDI effect in its essence, controlling your synthesizers parameters (e.g volume, cutoff, res) with MIDI CC and notes, FAC Envolver is also able to transform the input audio via two exclusive effects: a Noise Gate and a Trance Gate. This combination is the key to breathe life into your sound, providing interesting natural modulation and sequences that will always be different by nature.
Under the hood, FAC Envolver is an envelope follower delivering MIDI data generated from the contour of a signal. The source of this signal may come from two distinctive circuits: the first one is a classic envelope follower and the second one is a rythmical pattern called trigger gate. Both circuits are responsible for providing a signal envelope that can be altered by a set of parameters and delivered as MIDI control change messages (CC).
The generated signal envelope also passes through a gate detection mechanism driven by a threshold. When the signal goes above the threshold, the gate is open and when the signal goes below, the gate is closed. This open/close sequence provides a second envelope which is delivered as MIDI CC (on/off) and notes. The pitch of the note may be set within the effect or from an external value provided by MIDI input. Both may follow a particular scale progression.
The envelope follower circuit also provides a noise gate to control precisely the level of your audio signal. This uses the same open/close sequence built by the gate detection mechanism that delivers MIDI data but acts on the audio. Following the same logic, when the second circuit - the trigger gate - is engaged, the open/close sequence provides a trance gate style effect to the audio.
FAC Envolver is a stereo effect and provides two slots, one slot per channel. Both can be linked to facilitate the manipulation. The audio can also be turned to mono and the dry and wet audio can be mixed.
What's New
Aug 3, 2018 Version 2.0
• Two circuits: Env Follower and Trigger Gate (Audio/MIDI fx)
• Each circuit provides MIDI out (CC/Note) and optional audio transformation
• Env Follower provides a Noise Gate with threshold, hysteresis and curve smoother
• Trigger Gate provides a Trance Gate Style fx with optional resolution and patterns
• Stereo/Mono processing - a slot per channel
• Fine tuning of each slot; rising and falling time, bias, depth and inverter
• MIDI IN/OUT support: CC#, channels, int/ext note pitch and scale progression
• Multi-waveform graph: input signal, env contour, gate signal and threshold
• Host tempo sync
Note: The MIDI/AUDIO combo makes FAC Envolver usable in every host, even the ones that still do not provide MIDI out support, in this case the MIDI generator is disabled and the fx can be used as standard AUDIO fx."
Molten Modular 24 - Discovering Envelopes featuring TINRS Edgecutter
Published on Aug 2, 2018 Molten Music Technology
"Envelopes in Eurorack can be hard to grasp, especially when moving from regular synthesizers. In this in-depth video we are going to uncover the concepts and usage of the ADSR envelope from first bleep to evolving modulations. Grab a coffee and give yourself an hour to bathe in the warm embrace of envelopes. I'll be featuring the This Is Not Rocket Science Edgecutter envelope module along with Make Noise Maths and a tiny bit of Tip Top Z4000 but this video is applicable to any sort of envelope.

Voltage Modular (Beta) sequencing and triggering my Eurorack

"Voltage Modular (Beta) just got two new modules - CV-to-MIDI and MIDI-Out - using these two together means you can route anything generating CV in Voltage Modular out to anything other MIDI devices in your studio. I used the Squarp Hermod to convert this MIDI back into CV in order to trigger, sequence and modulate my Eurorack hardware. I've been looking for a decent software drum machine to run from my Surface into my rack and this absolutely nails it. This is only the first time I've used these modules so I've edited out all the bits of me scratching my head :)"

DELTA VCF + JUNO-1 (Progressive House) [Fair Weather]

"Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2018
Today I'm performing a Progressive House jam featuring my Delta VCF Eurorack Module.
The Delta VCF is a eurorack adaptation of the Korg Delta/Poly-61 synthesizers, and it's excellent for resonant bass pads!
And with resonance it will not dilute your bass frequencies like some filters do.
Delta VCF is conjuring up a Max Graham style bass pad using waveforms by the Pittsburgh Synthesizer Box PWM and Saw.
Stereo Widening using Eventide Timefactor
Synth Lead - Roland Juno-1, Big Sky reverb
Kick/Snare - Basimilus Iteritas Alter
Reverb-y Snare - Noise into Bastl Skis for a noise burst...
then my Reverb Tank Driver, then uBurst (MI Clouds)
Hats - Tiptop Hats909
Cowbell - Future Retro Transient
Sequencing - Arturia Beatstep Pro
Recorded direct to Tascam DR-05, some post processing in Cubase."
"The Delta VCF is a faithful clone of the Korg Delta synthesizer filter in Eurorack. The lowpass circuit was also found in the Poly-61. And uses the same OTA chips and dual transistor as the original Delta. It is all analog, no DSP, so it will warm up any signal run through it.
Version 2 is the same circuit, sound and features as version 1. New features for version 2!
- Revised panel design, adjustment pots are available from the front
- Module depth is now skiff- and boat-friendly
- Slightly less current draw
FEATURES
Two filter slopes: original 4-pole, and 2-pole.
Two filter modes: lowpass or bandpass.
Illuminated Frequency and Resonance Bourns Slider pots.
Mix together two different input oscillators at the input jacks w/ signal attenuation/gain pots. These inputs can overdrive the filter.
Modulate the filter cutoff with two different input control voltages w/ signal attenuation pots.
There are trim pots on PCB for adjusting frequency and resonance range. Some of you out there may want to give a little boost to the resonance trimpot on the PCB. Doing so will make this thing scream and howl a little harder.
Available exclusively in my Reverb Store at http://reverb.com/shop/gstormelectro
