"The latest in our experiments of stacking up drum machines and guitar pedals up against each other, the Geiger Counter PRO absolutely annihilates the classic 80's drum box, the Sequential Circuits TOM.

In this video, we experiment for about ten minutes with running the TOM drum machine, an 80's unit based on PCM samples of real drums. The TOM is a stripped down version of the classic, Sequential Circuits Drum TRAX machine and features all of the same sounds, with only a stereo output instead of individual outs.

Instead of using eurorack modules for modulation over the GCP's parameters, we have a WMD Protostar in the chain as well. We are mainly using the Protostar as a modulation source for the GCP, sending the internal LFO and Envelope signals to the assignable CV inputs. However, there are times when we also engage the filter on the Protostar which can drastically effect the sound of the Geiger PRO when the chain is Protostar into the Geiger Counter PRO."

"I found a box of tapes I made of class lectures way back in the 90s when I was a philosophy student. They are from a History of Philosophy class that was taught by the late great Professor James Rachels. Rachels was a famous philosopher in his own right and for each meeting of this class, he lectured on a different key figure in the history of philosophy. This piece has excerpts from his lecture on the ideas of G.E. Moore. By coincidence, the talk relates to thoughts on necessary and contingent identity by way of analogy to the Morning Star. Behringer Neutron - Krell patch

"I have the Neutron for a couple of weeks now and tried to make a Krell, a self generating patch. Twisting and turning the knobs sounds everytime different. I use the internal delay to modulate and the only used the Strymon Blue Sky for reverb.
No external midi was connected, no sequencer
Here is the connections I made:
LFO OUT to S&H IN
LFO UNI to E.GATE1
S&H to MULT, DELAY TIME and LFO SHAPE (stacked together)
MULT to OSC1+2
MULT2 to ATT1N
ATT1 to LFO RATE
By mistake I connected to inputs together and was supposed not to, but anyway the Krell works :)"

Today I am looking at a friend's Crumar Performer.
We noticed a considerable hiss noise when activating the String sections.
The hiss goes away when using only Brass.
I investigate where the noise is coming from, and what's to be done about it.
I discover a simple way to boost the strings signal without affecting the noise floor.

Another strange deal, by design, the brass button defeats the strings sustain.
I explore the sustain mod to restore the strings decay while using brass."
