"Rolf Maier Bode's youtube video shows just what this brooding monster of a synth can do: [previously posted here]

My 008 has the original leather end cheeks, and does not have the digital FX expansion board. Includes original inner and outer Modal boxes.

In great condition following very light use only in home studio (never gigged). Volume pot is very slightly crackly when moved quickly for the first time in a while."

"It has recently come from a service including a tune up and full calibration to factory specifications. It is sounding great and a pleasure to play.

The service included a deep clean inside and out. The keybed and contacts were also cleaned and lubricated. The machine was fully re-caped using only high quality, high temperature Panasonic and Nichicon components for longevity and reliability. Also all the sliders and switches were cleaned and lubricated. This unit had a thorough test and full 24hr burn in period to ensure the synth is functioning to its full capacity."

Solina String Ensemble Model 1 VS Solina String Synthesizer

Published on Dec 25, 2018 pontusberghe

"The very first model Solina String Ensemble compared to the Solina String Synthesizer, which has a Model 2 string section, no effects added.
They sound quite different, the first being obviously drier and less full, but a bit more clear, open and trebly.
The very first Solina has permanently engaged Ensemble effect, a different Divide Down system (three TOS SAH190) and is heavier than later generation Solinas."

"Hi All.
what's up Guys.??!!!
do you have great new tools as a gift?
I have already uploaded my new travel case 2x104 HP -Erica Synths and I have already played a little.
I moved some modules from Pico System II and added some of the Black series -Erica Synths, here a little bit of fun with the Black Modulator, but the last months were great with this 40% off and I basically have almost all Black series here.(but a few are missing 😂)🤘🤘😀Drums-Pico Drums
now that I've put it together, I've got better visions in one case. Are you spending time with new modules or synths anymore?

"I haven't worked out how to manually change this in the OP-Z settings yet, but I did work out that when OP-Z is on midi channel 1 - pattern 1 sends program change to JU-06 patch 11 (first patch). Pattern 9 changes JU-06 to patch 21 (first patch in bank 2)"

Enjoy this years Holiday Giveaway- Ableton Live Reed Organ Instrument

A fellow musician friend Laurie Ann invited me over to check out her Estey reed organ (or field organ as she referred to it). Naturally I had to sample it! Reeds have such a great sound to them. The pump action style of playing with your feet is very fun. It can be a little on the noisy side, so I decided to sample the organ by filling the chambers with air and letting the reeds play out. I proceeded to sample the organ while pumping it full of air to get the mechanism sound. With your pump pedal potentiometer located in the instrument rack, you can add the amount of foot pump sound into the samples being played. It turned out to be a very cool effect.

The song I made in the demo video came out quite dark. I find it humorous. When I make the demo videos songs for each video I don't start the process with a melody, or even an idea. I usually let the sound itself inspire me to make music based on its tonal structure. In this specific case I think the music was more reactionary. Most Christmas music is so upbeat! All I've heard lately are these holly jolly songs and I think I was just interested in going somewhere else with the tone.

Anyway, I hope you dig the free instrument, and if you can please check out Laurie Annes Music. She was nice enough to let me sample the organ and share with everyone. I think it came out great."

Roland MX-1: 4 Years Later Review

Published on Dec 24, 2018 MR TUNA Music

"The Roland MX-1 is a digital mixer built to work with a combination of different instruments, but especially with Roland-branded USB-specific equipment like the AIRA series, or Roland Boutique series. It's got some unique features like TR-style effect-sequencing, and simulated side-chaining effects... but in some areas I have found a little frustrating.

The day they announced the Roland MX-1 I pretty much knew it was for me. I was already a committed AIRA user with the System-1, TB-3, and TR-8... the MX-1 seemed like a no-brainer with audio/MIDI over USB and additional inputs for my gear.

It's been almost 4 years since getting that 1st MX-1, and my set-up has grown exponentially since then, with more synths and machines, including 2 more MX-1s.

There are strengths and weaknesses to anything, and I try and touch base on what makes the MX-1 unique as compared to other mixers, especially as it fits into my setup, with its playable 'instrument-like' abilities; but also I'll spend some time talking about where it has left me wanting... you know, like a review of some kind.

It's a 4-years-in review!!"
