"There were 9 versions of the Jupiter-8 and this is version 1.
Epic, vintage, legendary.
It's the 1264th Jupiter 8 ever produced. Around 3000 were produced in total.
Based on the serial number I estimate that it was made around February of '82, 1 year after they started manufacturing.
It's one of the earlier 12 bit models, just before they started using a 14 bit D/A converter.
Serial no. 151364
Perhaps Roland's most classic sought after keyboard."

Studio Electronics Omega 8 RED EYE Edition

"5 voice Studio Electronics Omega 8 with the Black Music Essentials patch bank (a $100 bank) loaded into ROM C. This version has the Minimoog and Oberheim filters.
It's in excellent condition, sounds incredible, has some typical rack rash. Has multiple options for outputs for the individual voices, as well as a dedicated mono output and stereo outputs.
The BME patchbank is like a trip into 70s-90s R&B and Funk. Incredibly well programmed."
I believe the RED EYE editions were Novamusik special editions. Novamusik is now Kraft Music.

Acidlab Autobot Sequencer (RARE) + M303

"The M303 is an entire synthesizer voice and to be exact a clone of the TB-30´s analog circuitry in a single Eurorack module. Imagine it as a modular vesion of the Acidlab Bassline without the sequencer but with aditional CV inputs instead.
Now imagine it with a sequencer that can attach directly to the M303. That's the Autobot. Autobot is the monophonic sequencer from the Bassline 3 in Eurorack format enhanced with some additional trigger outputs AND midi i/o.
These are pretty rare / especially rare together."

Arturia Minibrute 2 | Little Monster
Published on Sep 3, 2019 Alex Ball
"Arturia kindly sent me a Minibrute 2 and so I made a track with it.
As I’m sure you know, the MiniBrute 2 came out last year and is the successor to the original MiniBrute (2012) with both being modern analogue monosynths with some nice features.
Oscillator 1 has mixable sawtooth with ultrasaw, square wave with pulse width, triangle with metalizer and noise.
Oscillator 2 is simpler with sine, saw and square. It can also run as an LFO.
There is a great sounding resonant Steiner-Parker multimode filter with low pass, high pass, band pass and notch modes. It can self-oscillate.
There’s two dedicated LFOs that can be sync’d or free running.
There’s two envelopes (ADSR and AR) and the latter can loop.
There’s “brute factor” which is an on board overdrive that can get quite extreme (in a good way).
There’s a pitch wheel, mod wheel, aftertouch, an arpeggiator, a sequencer, USB and Midi in and out.
There’s also a comprehensive patch bay that really opens things out and also allows the MiniBrute to connect to Eurorack rigs. In fact there is a whole RackBrute that the MiniBrute can bolt onto via connections on its side panels.
The test for me was “Can I get up and running quickly and get some musical results” and the answer was “absolutely”. I patched in a sync’d bass sound and setup the envelopes and filter and it sounded great. I made a bunch of drum sounds and effects and sampled them for a rhythm track. I also made a couple of lead sounds that you hear in the track and everything sounded really good.
To give a balanced view I’ll list a couple of small niggles. Firstly, I’m not a fan of two octave keyboards, although the Minibrute is designed to be small of course – the clue is in the name!
Secondly the build quality is pretty solid, but the sliders felt a little plasticy (which they are of course) but by contrast the potentiometers were smooth and robust.
Whilst the above is nit-picking really and not really to do with the sound, the one real issue I found was that the tuning would drift and need nudging at fairly regular intervals. I’m not sure if that’s just my unit or that it needs some wearing in or whether they all drift, so let me know if you’ve found the same.
But overall, as an affordable true analogue synth with some instant features and some much deeper ones, I think the Minibrute 2 is a very cool and convenient product that casts a wide net in terms of its potential end users."
Sequential In The Spotlight Interview with HOTEL POOLS
You can find the interview on Sequential's website here.
"Hotel Pools is a chill synth project from Portland, Oregon. Drenched in Portland rain and reverb, musician Ben Braun has created his own niche in the synth scene, releasing two albums and an EP over the last year. Hotel Pools’ latest album Constant spent two weeks on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Album Sales Chart.
We chatted with Ben on how he’s using the Prophet-6 in his music."

Lorre-Mill Double Knot 2 Available for Pre-Order
via @ctrl_mod, @ctrlmod
"Excited to announce Pre-Orders are now available for the newly redesigned Double Knot 2 from the always terrific @lorre_mill 🌀#ctrlmod #lorremill #doubleknot2 #doubleknot #synthesizer #synth #bananacables"
via Control:

Envelopers
New enveloper design with mode switch to set trigger mode, loop mode or off. Wide range CV input can nearly halt envelope mid-decay for sample/hold type output. Trigger input in lieu of the fill input from the previous model.
Amplitude
Controls for amplitude modulation and amplifier offset for both channels. CV inputs for each channel that are normaled to the enveloper output, can be patched to other sources for other AM effects.
Oscillators
Very same oscillators as the first version. Triangle and square outputs, sync and CV inputs. Knobs for pitch and modulation amount.
Frequency Modulation
The FM section allows easy modulation of one oscillator to the other or both at the same time. With a knob for FM amount, a CV in jack that allows control of FM index and a toggle switch to set the modulation routing.
Audio output
3.5mm audio line output on the back of the unit closest to the amplitude controls. This is a stereo output with one synth channel per side.
Power
Power draw is 12V DC ~200ma on a 5.5 x 2.1mm barrel connector with Positive voltage on the center pin. self-resettable 350ma PTC fuse for overcurrent protection. Diode for reverse voltage protection. Ground banana jack is next to the power input on the back. This is for sharing ground between the double knot and other banana jack devices."
ASM Hydrasynth Keyboard Preset Sounds
Published on Sep 3, 2019 Perfect Circuit
"The new Ashun Sound Machines (ASM) Hydrasynth keyboard is an eight-voice synth with rich options for sound design: with Wave Scanning oscillators, sound shaping via multiple Mutators, two flexible filters per voice, and a fully-thought-out effects section, Hydrasynth is a sound designer's dream.
It offers full polyphonic aftertouch, a large ribbon controller, and an intense arpeggiator with randomness and ratcheting built in. And of course, the modulation section is formidable: five complex envelopes, five complex LFOs, CV/Gate I/O and a 32-path modulation matrix make it possible to create everything from classic key sounds to evolving generative soundscapes.
In this video, we explore some of the Hydrasynth's presets. If you're interested to learn more about the Hydrasynth's design process, check out our interview with ASM design director Glen Darcey here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/signal...
