Supercritical Synthesizers - Cable Salad

video by Supercritical Synthesizers

"Lush. Polyphonic. Very lush and polyphonic.

Four Demon Core Oscillators and four Neutron Flux Filters wired with stereo outputs. Four envelopes and some stereo modulation via the Genki Wave ring. MIDI split to four CV/Gates.

No chorus. Just a touch of Valhalla Room.

Cable salad. Definitely needs some Parmigiano Reggio and olive oil. Does it add more lush?"

Second Sound UniSyn: The Ultimate Pitch Tracker

video by mootbooxle

"Hey I'm alive!
Remember that raw circuit board looking thing that I was demoing a while back? It's now a commercial product and it's incredible. This little video barely even scratches the surface.

via Second Sound

"Greetings Second Sound Fans, Demo Artists, Current and Future Customers!

I am happy to report that I have finalized the re-design of my DACO160EVK with a more ergonomic layout, extra features, and — best of all — in a sturdy aluminum enclosure! This will be a consumer product which I have tentatively named the UniSyn, short for Universal Audio to Synth Interface.

The UniSyn employs the same pitch and envelope tracking technology of its prototype predecessor, converting audio from any monophonic source to CV and MIDI. The UniSyn also creates a dedicated sine wave as well as filtered square or sawtooth waves which can be optionally pitch-shifted over a +/-2 octave range with semitone resolution.

The new features include:

24v Phantom Power
Firmware upgrades/modifications available via SD card
Automatic Gain Control (AGC) for the input preamp
A new analog 3:1 input compression mode that works together with the AGC to make the synth dynamics really “pop”
1/4″ jack sustain pedal interface
And, of course, what turned out to be my most requested feature while I was selling the DACO160EVK units — a high-quality aluminum enclosure
I am still in the process of establishing the MSRP for the UniSyn. In the meantime, I will be offering a 20% discount on the remaining DACO160EVK units until they are all sold.

Thank you all for your valuable feedback and help evaluating the earlier prototypes. I’ve tried to accommodate all of the great suggestions I received and believe, and hope you agree, that as a result we’ve made a great product together!"

YAMAHA YC61 DEMO - Electric Pianos (Rhodes & Wurli)

video by Woody Piano Shack

"Another chill demo showcasing all the new electric pianos on the Yamaha YC61, YC73 and YC88. We'll play some improvisations on the Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos. We'll feature the brand new samples included with the firmware 1.1 released recently.
These are the same or similar sounds as the CP73 and CP88 so this might be helpful if you are considering those keyboards.
Check out my previous video for the acoustic pianos, CFX, Nashville, U2 etc. [posted here]

"This one is in excellent cosmetic condition and working 100%. It has just come back from being serviced and with some restoration from Custom Vintage Keyboards in North Hollywood, CA. As the title says, this is an original gold-top and not painted like some you see here. These gold models are not too common and are rarely listed for sale.

Cosmetically- The entire unit has had it's tolex replaced, some of the hardware has been replaced (screws, handle, latches, and feet). The wood sides have been refinished, the keys have been cleaned and polished, the cover (not the gold top) was missing on this unit so a new one was built, re-tolexed, and has new felt lining. The keys are original and look good overall. Two keys have small imperfections, but the keyboard was nice enough to keep original without the key's tops being replaced.

Internally- Aside from any repairs, the electronics have been chemically cleaned, everything has been aligned and voiced, the damper height and positioning has been adjusted, the damper felts have refurbished, and it has been completely tuned. This might be updated!"

"Amstrad Fidelity CKX100 Computerphonic keyboard (1988)
Well, who knew Lord Sugar made a keyboard...? All the sounds you hear in the track were made using the CKX100 and recorded to a DAW, where I added compression, EQ, reverb, delay and some light chorus as required. I sampled individual drum hits from slowed-down CKX100 rhythms, to allow me to build fresh beats, rather than using the rhythms found on the CKX100 itself."

The design reminds me of an E-mu Emax.

"This really is a rare keyboard and is fully working in mint condition, still in the original box with original internal packaging, complete with 6 C Batteries! The 6 type C batteries will be included in the shipment only if the buyer resides in the European Union. In non-European countries it is NOT possible to send batteries for customs reasons.

The Amstrad CKX100 is a great vintage machine with loads of character and a unique sound! An unusual special feature of this instrument is the "playright mode", which switches the right keyboard section to pentatonic tone scales, those vary with the actual chord (selected with the left hand) to force the player to play what establishment considers harmonious (a bit like an Omnichord). There is also a MIDI-out jack and a simple sequencer with data storage on audio cassettes.
