via this auction "This unit is in amazing condition with only a couple hours use - only listing this as Excellent as opposed to Mint because it has already been assembled! It comes with all of its original materials, cables, software, and packaging.

It comes fully assembled, along with custom aftermarket side panels, face plate, and front plate from Exciting Machines - a $28 value. The case is completely non-destructive and can be removed if you prefer the look without a case. It comes with aftermarket knobs, too. Besides the white and two blue in the pictures, I’ll nclude two orange if you want to swap them out. These can also be removed if you prefer!"

"This is second of two demos of the Dave Smith Instruments Mopho; Stereo Monophonic Analog Synthesizer.

Valhalla Freq Echo was used for delay and the Forest Floor preset in Ableton Live for reverb. I have displayed my settings for your reference. No other processing aside from a Waves L1 Limiter was added to the master channel to catch peaks in Ableton Live."

Nord Micro Modular - Digital Spaghetti from the 90s [No Talking Demo]

video by Marshal Arnold

"Nord Micro Modular - Digital Spaghetti from the 90s [No Talking Demo]

Tonight I demo some patches from the Clavia Nord Micro Modular. Released in 1999, this really was an innovative synthesizer. It's limited to 4 voices, so you will see/hear some voice stealing taking place especially with patches with long release times.

I did use some reverb and delay in Ableton to make things sound a bit more enjoyable.

This synth I've owned for a few years but haven't really had a chance to dig into it. Well, tonight I start! I did do some playing around with it on a live stream some years ago, but nothing really useful to folks so I wanted to give it a proper audio demo video.

Most patches are factory patches, but I did have a go with some patching, I used a preset as a starting point, but created something totally new. This really makes me want to try to pick up the actual Nord Modular or the G2. Let me know what you think of the Nord Micro Modular!

#shorts Cinematic horror ambient film music with Soma Lyra-8

video by Ethan James Music Shorts

"For this cinematic ambient horror film music, I was looking to use the Lyra-8 with its pitch sequence ostinatos that can happen when you assign the LFOs to FM. Changing the speed of the LFOs changes the intensity of the ostinato to be faster or slower without changing the pitch, as long as the mod knob stays in one place. I find the best way to use the Lyra8 is to just follow the sound and have no predetermined destination. This one came out sounding very appropriate for a horror movie, especially with the fantastically ugly low bass notes."

New Mutable Instruments Beads Firmware (release candidate)

video by Cinematic Laboratory

via the : Mutable Instruments Forum (link below):

"Thanks to everyone for the massive amount of feedback I have received after the launch of this module! It certainly got used more in these past two months, than during the final year of polishing and testing that lead to its release.

Audio quality

A CPU overload issue causing crackles on the left channel in 48kHz/stereo mode with some specific combinations of SIZE and DENSITY has been fixed, through several code optimizations having no negative impact on the module’s functionality.
When recording restarts after FREEZE is disabled, the duration of the crossfade between the tail of the buffer and the incoming audio has been increased, thus reducing vastly the risk of clicks.
When the module operates as a delay, a smooth transition zone has been added between each of the multiplication factors selected by the TIME setting. This prevents the glitches that occurred when TIME was modulated and the play-head abruptly jumped from one position to another.
When the module operates as an externally clocked delay, and when the clock rate changes (abruptly, or because of swing or jitter), a crossfade is applied between the old and new delay time, eliminating clicks.
When the module plays slices (delay mode + FREEZE enabled), it waits for the completion of the currently playing slice before sampling the TIME parameter and deciding which slice to play next. Again, this prevents clicks when TIME is modulated.
