"This unit was meticulously refurbished. The work required (8 hours of skilled vintage synth tech labor + parts) to properly restore these so they're working as well as possible and hopefully stay that way long into the future is both time consuming and costly and adds great value to this item. This is of course reflected in its higher than usual price. You will not find a better one anywhere.
In addition to any repairs, we did the following to this unit: All sliders cleaned and lubed. Power supply recapped, trim pots replaced. Tantalum capacitors replaced. Unit disassembled and cleaned inside and out. Replaced 4 diodes. Cleaned all jacks. Recalibrated."
"Original Vintage Minimoog Model D, Serial Number 269x
Fully disassembled, cleaned inside and out, meticulously serviced over 26 hours, sparing no expense, to be better than others you may see on the market and working exactly the way you'll want it to, unlike most. The wooden case was refinished as well. The time quoted above does not require the refinishing time. In addition to considerable tech fees, we paid a furniture restorer another $500 for the refinishing of the case."
"Just back from the tech recapped & calibrated. They said the keybed is one of the best they have ever seen. This synth sounds awesome! Pure warm discrete synth sounds! Like a supercharged Roland SH-2000. This one is in impeccable collectors condition too. Check out the pics."
This sampler sounds pretty good. It's got a lo-fi edge due to the fact that it's only a 12-bit rather than 16, 20 or 24-bit sampler. Recently the 12-bit Akai samplers became the most sought after converters from the 80's
The floppy drive is working and it can load samples from the S700 and S612 libraries. For enhanced analog-like editing, the X7000 can be hooked up to Akai AX synthesizers via the DD-X5013 Voice Cable (not included) so you can run the X7000's samples through these synth's analog circuitry.
"In this video, we'll explore the Modal Cobalt 8M extended virtual-analog synthesizer, a unique and easy-to-use 8 voice synthesizer with a large selection of algorithms for each oscillator, offering a wide variety of tones without much fuss.
In this video, we'll see how it works, how it sounds, and make a track using patches we make from scratch!"

"Following on from the successful organic Organizm pack, LDM Design this time embraces the synthetic and digital, celebrating imperfection, glitches, and broken machine sounds. The Malfunktion pack provides a great selection of resources which can add a glitchy element to any production, and sounds great with glitch, IDM, minimal techno & ambient styles.
The detailed collection of 64 finely crafted patches includes drones, digital tones, broken machine sounds, crackles, noise, pads and atmospheres. Among atonal noises there are also a number of digital synth sounds, bleepy broken leads & lush pads.
The carefully constructed samples include concrete kicks, clicks, pops, snaps, beeps, databent computer files, and recorded natural clicks from pens and clocks.
Within the pack are also 16 sessions to demonstrate a variety of possible sounds.
The pack uses a consistent set of macros as all my other packs which follow the assignments for the Circuit Tracks.
This pack is for both Circuit Tracks and Circuit OG.

Gabe Miller Music First Day with the Novation Circuit Rhythm
loopop Review: Circuit RHYTHM vs TRACKS // Full sampling and workflow tutorial for Novation's new sampler
Sample, make beats, and perform like never before, with the latest addition to
the Circuit family. The wait is finally over. The next addition to our Novation
Circuit family is here to bring new life to beatmaking and turn samples in to
stellar tracks. With eight sample tracks, built-in recording, performance
effects, on-the-go capabilities and more, Circuit Rhythm is the beatmaker’s best
friend. In a brand-new direction for Novation, Circuit Rhythm puts sampling in
the spotlight and provides a whole host of fresh features aimed to take
beatmaking to new heights.
Sampling is at the heart of Circuit Rhythm. Record straight into Circuit Rhythm
through the audio inputs, and instantly capture sound from records, synths, or
even a phone. Designed with a focus on immediate sampling and artistic
expression, users can capture creative ideas quickly and stay inspired.
With a lightning-fast sequencer, beatmakers can start turning those samples into
killer beats with ease. Whether playing in drums, making basslines or chopping
straight from vinyl, music makers can play back samples however they want and
listen through stereo out or with headphones. Re-sample and sculpt sounds with
limitless creative possibilities.
Circuit Rhythm’s eight sample tracks, each with their own 32-step patterns
chainable for 256 steps per track, gives creators sample space to find their
groove and craft killer tracks, all with an intuitive screenless workflow,
common to all Circuit products. Stay quantised or give beats real human feel and
go off-grid and record to micro steps. Keep beats interesting with probability
and pattern mutate.
Performers can take to the stage with Circuit Rhythm and bring vibrant
performance- focused Grid FX to their beats. Give samples character with beat
repeat, vinyl simulation, and many more effects to really create massive sound.
Circuit Rhythm is well-equipped to handle any scenario and is brilliant for
making dope beats in the studio or used to capture creative ideas for beatmakers
on the move. Make Circuit Rhythm part of a studio set up with full-size five-pin
MIDI in, out, and thru, and analogue sync out, and monitoring through audio or
headphone outputs.
Circuit Rhythm is completely portable. With a compact and tough build, built-in
rechargeable battery and microSD card slot for expandable storage or loading in
samples and projects, music makers never have to stop creating with Circuit
Rhythm.
With Novation’s online companion Components, Circuit Rhythm’s creative potential
expands even further. Users can dive into Circuit Rhythm using the browser-based
or standalone desktop app, and load samples, backup projects, download
artist-made soundpacks, and create custom patches so that creators can give
their music production their unique flavour.
"With a little simple tuning, FM on the DB-01 can become extremely useful. You can create multiple pattern variations by moving the FM tuning from note to note. And instead of "losing" the LFO it's now available to create interesting filter modulations that start sounding like bit crushers and distortion. Changing the LFO shape adds even more flavors. If you haven't used much FM before, it's worth choosing one of your favorite patterns and experimenting with variations.
In the video I use a Fabfilter L2 limiter on the output for consistency. More importantly, if you're trying to recreate the sound, I also have the CV out hooked directly to the VCF/CV in to give filter tracking.
