New Synthetic Sound Labs SEGWENCER 2.0 – MODEL 2521 & V-GATES 2.0 – MODEL 2611

The SSL 2521 Segwencer™ 2.0 Euro module is an updated version of our popular 2520 with improved circuitry, simple panel graphics and only 8 HP width – and is indeed in a class of its own. The name derives from the audio term “segue” (fading from one sound to another), and the synth term “sequence” (moving from one point / sound to another), and once combined, there is a synergy that blasts these concepts into a totally new way of morphing sounds, textures and even control voltages.

V-GATES 2.0 – MODEL 2611 -

The SSL 2611 V-Gates 2.0 is an updated version of our popular 2610 with improved circuitry, simple panel graphics and only 8 HP width. It sports a powerful combination of features for your clocking and gating pleasure. In fact, there are well over 300 variations of gates, functions and modes. And many of these functions can be voltage controlled!

ANALOG KNOBS ON A DIGITAL GATE?
Absolutely! You bet! Although knobs might seem to make more sense for analog, with digital functions the knobs actually allow very versatile selections of what we call “Sub-Functions”. These sub-functions allow you to adjust how the gate outputs react with the input clock, among other things.

Korg Modwave Review : Wavetable Sounds, Performance Techniques, and More!

video upload by Perfect Circuit

"Our Pal Jacob shows us some of his whacky wavetables on the Korg Modwave!

The Modwave is Korg's newest keyboard synthesizer that takes a portion of DNA from the classic DW-8000 digital synthesizer.

Check out more on the Modwave here : https://bit.ly/3HtVsf7

'The Modwave is a thoroughly modern approach to wavetable synthesis unlike any other. Like the Wavestate and the Opsix before it, Modwave takes a classic method of synthesis and turns it on its head, adding in new features like Kaoss Physics and Motion Sequencing 2.0 to deliver vivid sonic textures with constant evolution, and is presented in a compact, 37-key package that punches well above its weight.'"

"I've always wanted to be able to perform something like Varèse's Poème Électronique live on the Buchla. Poème, of course, took months of recording, tape manipulation and hours and days of editing and splicing tape to create. This humble patch is getting closer to those sounds and gestures in realtime. The game's afoot. Enjoy!"

This Rhodes Chroma is in excellent condition and performs exactly as it should. It has been fully restored and upgraded by Chroma guru Randel Osborne. Randel has restored many Chromas and also builds the Enabler controller. It’s hard to imagine a better example of this rare instrument: beautiful, modernized and 100% Randel certified.

Restoration included:
- complete synth cleaning, calibration and testing
- voice board servicing
- refinishing of the woodwork
- installation of the modern switching power supply by Luca Sasdelli
- installation of the CPU Plus (CC+) control board (MIDI upgrade with breakout cable)

The keybed is in superb shape, with a comfortable feel between piano and synth action."

"This is a rev. 5, it sounds amazing and while known for its massive sound it is also possible to sculpt some airy-sounding pads as well. I removed the rack ears from the programmer as I used it on the desktop - can reattach them if required.

Also comes with an MCX-1024 (practically impossible to find now) that offers the storage of 16 x M-64C cartridges! It utilizes FRAM non-volatile memory that outperform EEPROM/FLASH in speed while remaining non-volatile unlike the more commonly used SRAM. The banks can be accessed using a 16 position switch. Different banks can be used with different gear."

"It has a Groove Electronics MIDI kit installed. The installation was done by SynthesizerStudio Bonn in Germany. They were the best maintenance place in Germany in the 90s. They did a beautiful professional maintenance and repair job every time. Everything is working. Even all the lights are still working.

The Mysterious Quasimidi Sirius Synthesizer (Presets, drums, songs)

video upload by Dawn R

"The Holy Grail of groove synthesizers and the Crown Jewel of the Electraglide band.
The Sirius is a keyboard "groove-synth," featuring a subtractive hybrid-tone-generation synthesizer referred to as DTE ('Difficult To Explain') synthesis introduced in 1997 by Quasimidi. The unit featured both real-time and step sequencers with pattern- and song-modes, capable of acting basic drum machine, groove-box, or sound-module.

The unit is thus 7x multitimbral and has 28-voice polyphony across its 7 tracks, with track selecting a (track-specific) sound within 96 sounds (per bank) of preset- or user-writeable sounds."
