"Fully restored: in excellent working order and including 6 month warranty from Europe’s top EMS specialist.

Stunning sounding example: serviced and ready to ship. Tony says: “I’m always reluctant to let a Synthi go as they each have their own character and I’ve really connected to this one…”

EMS Synthi A for sale in excellent working order following a thorough overhaul and extensive testing (it’s a tough job, but Tony forced himself to do it 🙂 ).

Sonically and visually this is an early Mk1, but it has had some internal boards (that do not affect the tonality) replaced by early EMS Cornwall boards (see below for further info). Tony has tested this extensively and confirms it sounds just as he’d expect from an early Mk1: in fact he’s still not handed it back and is feverishly recording with it before someone buys it. Demos of Tony’s exploits with this Synthi are below.

New commission instruction: more info below from the technician who performed the servicing

This is a Mk1 Synthi with early EMS Cornwall replacement B and C boards. As the sound and character depends on board A and the matrix layout, this Synthi works and sounds as you’d expect from a Mk1.

Supplied with three EMS handbooks which contain essential and detailed information for the budding (or experienced) Synthi user: the VCS3 manual; The Synthi Book Of Sounds; The Synthi Educational Handbook.

CONDITION:

In very good overall condition, the face is clean showing some wear and discolouration as you’d expect from a vintage Synthi. It’s had an IEC socket installed in the past. The Spartanite case has had a hole blanked off near the handle and is missing its badge. The lid has the two mounting holes for a KS section (to make it an AKS) but as the joystick is the longer type and the power supply not upgraded for KS, it would appear that the lid is not original to this unit. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition."

"Gorgeous Roland SH-3A Monophonic Synthesizer!

***Service work completed:

-Every key was removed, individually cleaned, and lightly polished. Every key spring was reshaped and lubricated, several key bushings were replaced and all were re-lubricated. Every key contact wires were cleaned with 99% IPA. The entire key bed chassis was cleaned.

-The power supply was fully recapped and solder joints were reflowed. All cables and connectors were checked and replaced if necessary.

-Every slider/potentiometer was cleaned and fully lubricated from the inside.

-The entire front panel was was cleaned and polished individually (with the pots, buttons, and keybed removed).

-Some minor rust spots on the bare metal inside the unit (which 99% of vintage synths have to some extent) were sanded and treated.

-The exterior case was fully cleaned and touched up.

**The keys look a bit yellow in these photos, but this is not the case in person. The camera makes them look much more yellow than they actually are. 70's Roland key beds have a slightly yellow look to them naturally from the factory. We have three SH-3As here currently and all the 3 key beds look identical.**

Next Phase User Guide - Vintage-Voiced All-Analogue Eurorack Modular Phaser

video upload by AJH Synth Official

"The NEXT PHASE is a hugely versatile phaser, with extensive voice controls, CV control, and an ability to attain vintage tone without the significant noise floor of many famous guitar pedal phasers of the past. It's based on the EHX Small Stone made famous by Jean-Michel Jarre and others, but since it's modular it goes way beyond it in sound-sculpting potential. It can produce the familiar 4-stage phasing sounds of such phaser pedals, but can have up to 12 stages in both the phase stage, and emphasis (resonance/feedback) stage independently, creating even more harmonic complexity. Also, it's internal LFO can be disabled, sent to other modules, or used in combination with external CV signals, such as envelopes or sample & hold for example. It has 2 outputs taken from different points in the phasing process, which can be used to create a stereo effect, and a 100% wet output for processing externally. With all of these features combined, the Next Phase can go from classic early electronic music and synth pop, to modern electronica and sound effects/soundtracks/soundscapes, even percussion processing. See this video showing how it can be used as an interesting alternative to a filter/VCF: [posted here]

"An extended, one take, set of the amazing instrument that is Make Noise Strega plus 0-Ctrl. Its paired with an (off screen) looping delay. The audio is recorded directly from the mixer with no editing or post processing. Together, this duo are utterly compelling to me as a performance instrument."

"We present the Meme Screamer Plus, a distortion effects pedal from NoiseKICK FX. It has two analog distortion circuits based on the Tube Screamer and Klon Centaur, as well as a boost circuit. It takes its design from the popular meme featuring a woman yelling at a cat (the women are from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and the cat is named Smudge).

0:05 Introduction
0:55 As a waveshaper with simple analog waveforms (Arturia MiniBrute 2)
3:07 As a distortion/overdrive with a Minimoog
