Pro Synth Network LIVE! - Episode 136 with Special Guest, Marcus Ryle!
video upload by Pro Synth Network
"Music Technology Discussion with Rob Puricelli, Kent Spong & Ben Simpson and our special guest, Marcus Ryle!
Every now and again, we are able to persuade legends to join our show and share their stories with us. This Friday is one of those times. We are honoured to be joined by Marcus Ryle, a name so revered in synthesizer and music technology that he really needs no introduction.
Marcus will be telling us all about his history in the business, his time with Oberheim, both then and now and all the other pies he has had his finger in. Sit back and enjoy!
We appreciate your help! All donations go directly toward making the show run smoothly. If you'd like to help support our streaming platform, you can make a donation via PayPal here:

KadImprov #7 - Sunset: Los Angeles, November, 2022 - SYNTRX - Moog M-32 - ProphetRev2 - KorgNTS1
video upload by KadiMusic
"Welcome to #KadImprov Sessions #7: 'Sunset: Los Angeles, November, 2022' - Homage to #Vangelis. Thank you for the inspiration.
I was inspired to call this track Sunset, because to me it feels like a transition. A wavering moment between day and night.
Main chords on the #ProphetRev2. I wanted to try the #KORG #NTS1 for the arpeggio drone sound together with the #electroharmonix Frequency Analyzer.
Drone sounds provided by the #EricaSynths SYNTRX, base drum and thumping sound designed with the #Moog #Mother32.
Thank you for watching and for your feedback."

Oberheim OB-X8 Cover Clips
video uploads by Sean Christopher Synthesizers
Playlist:
Flash Gordon Soundtrack clips performed on the Oberheim OB-X8
I've always loved the movie Flash Gordon from good old 1980. Since Queen performed all the synth parts for that soundtrack on the Oberheim OB-X, I thought that it would be fitting to do my own version of some of the tracks with my new Oberheim OB-X8. I didn't try to recreate every piece spot on, but definitely wanted the Oberheim OB-X spirit in there. I hope that you enjoy my effort. :) Show lessVan Halen 1984 performed on the Oberheim OB X8
1984 was one of my favorite synth pieces from the 1980's, so I just had to recreate it on my new Oberheim OB-X8. I hope that you enjoy it.Oberheim OB-X8 demo - "The Quasar's Sorrow" - also featuring the OTO BAM Reverb Processor
I originally wrote this track in 2012 for my TRANSCENDENCE album. Now 10 years later, the OB-X8 was the perfect synth the recreate it using only one synth. 100% of the track is using the OB-X8 (I used 12 patches multitracked using Cubase 12) and the only FX used was from my new BAM reverb processor by OTO Machines.Radio Gaga instrumental cover featuring the Oberheim OB-X8
As a teen in 1984, Radio Gaga was my favorite song from the era......and still is to this day. It's pure music magic to my ears. I thought that I'd rearrange it using the Oberheim OB-X8 for all the synth/keyboard parts in the song.
Also sprach Zarathustra by Strauss - performed on the Sequential Prophet 10 rev4
video upload by Sean Christopher Synthesizers
"Every time I watch 2001: A Space Odyssey, one of my favorite movies of all time, I still get the chills when I hear that incredible piece by Richard Strauss, Also sprach Zarathustra. I just realized that after owning the Prophet 10 for over 1 year now, I still hadn't done a Prophet 10 only track with it yet, so I think that Also sprach Zarathustra was a great choice to rectify that."
Sequential Prophet 10: The Epic Drone
video upload by Friendly Noise
"An epic drone with the Sequential Prophet 10. Reverb and delay were added in the DAW after the recording.
Sorry, there is no video of the recording. I liked what came out of the P10 and just pressed record. Then I added two mixed slow motion videos of the P10, which are kind of supportive for the sound, but without capturing the actual recording."
Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave presets demo - No talking
video upload by Sean Christopher Synthesizers
"My shiny new blue Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave, which is a PPG Wave 2.3 inspired synth, arrived 2 days ago, so I wanted to quickly put out a demo of some of the presets. I hope you enjoy it. :)"
Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave demo song - Rebellion In Nebadon
"I wrote this track back in 1990 while serving in the US Army. For the last 10 years or so I've wanted an excuse to recreate it, and now with my shiny new blue 3rd Wave, I thought now was a good time.
Other than the orchestral percussion, the track is 100% from the 3rd Wave, including the FX."
Spectralis as an advanced FX unit (Tutorial)
video upload by MIDERA
"What you hear at the beginning is what I end up doing towards the end of the video - I'll set a timestamp for that at some point.
In my first edition of this video, my camera turned off due to a 'full disk' and I had to start over after recording 22 minutes. I was told during my previous video to just go fast and skip the Spectralis 101 type stuff.
My apologies on going slow to explain things. Sometimes my brain doesn't remember words and there's a lot to talk about.
So just a few notes to keep clear:
There are 3 different filters in the Spectralis.
1) 24db LP filter
2) 12db MM filter (includes a LP, HP, and BP filter)
3) Fixed Filterbank (FF)
External input sounds can be routed to ANY of these, and in almost any order. Theoretically, you can send a sound into the LP filter through to the FF and send it back to the LP. You'll just get feedback, obviously, but it can be done.
Hope this is of interest.
