Sequencer - 32 step tracks and 4 controller tracks with 32 modulation routings per preset. MIDI note randomizer
Synthesizer - Sample or oscillator for each of the 16 slots for each preset, waveforms, effects, loops, tuning, and more. Each sample slot has its own filter...or form a filterbank from them all! And it's 4-note polyphonic.

This soundset with 40 exclusive sample-based performances was carefully crafted by the well-known sound designer, OttO K. Schwarz. "This is a video demonstrating the sounds of the AKAI AX73.

I have this synth for many years now, but only recently it has completely opened up to me using the Electra One with the Tauntek firmware. This gives me all the controls at my fingertips instead of the single slider on the AX73. Sometimes the interface of a device simply hampers you in your creative process and then you don't use it that often. The AX73 is a phenomenal synth and totally underappreciated. I love the quirkiness and character of this synth. It is a beast of its own.
