Intellijel Flurry: 3 Patches with Rainbow Mode 🌈

video upload by Intellijel

"Exploring one of our favourite features on Flurry 🌈

Rainbow mode gives you immediate access to all 16 of the digital noise algorithms on Flurry. The Morph control lets you scan through them manually, or you can patch in CV to modulate between Noise Types - and that’s where things get exciting! We’ve created 3 patches that put Rainbow mode to good use - helped along by Tangrams, Planar2, Sealegs and more!

The patches:

00:30 - Rainbow Rhythms 🌈

Noise type is sequenced and the output gated with the ‪@KorgOfficial‬ SQ-1, Tangrams and Amps. Planar mixes in S&H output with the sequence to randomise the noise type, as well as controlling delay & filter, to create fills. A great way to add playable rhythmic layers to your beats.

01:15 - Spectrum Steps 🌈

This patch uses sample & hold to randomly switch noise type with every note. Via tangrams VCA input, the digital noise swells and modulates the SVF cutoff frequency at audio rate. Imagine a prepared piano, but the objects inside are constantly moving between keys.

02:05 - Chaotic Dispersion 🌈

All hell is breaking loose in “Chaotic Dispersion”, and Planar2 is driving! With every joystick movement, a chain of events is set in motion - Noise type changes with position, as does the VCO pitch and delay settings. Gate from Planar2 triggers Tangrams which ramps up the pulse rate. The outputted pulse feeds Tangrams other envelope, which rapidly triggers the PLPG before slowing to a steady tick. This one is a lot of fun!"

DRM1 MKIV: chirping forest kit (one beat // different sounds # 2.3)

video upload by vermonagear

00:00 - Intro 00:09 - Starting the Beat 00:51 - All Instruments "Can the DRM1 MKIV sing like a bird? Find out by watching this video. There is nothing left of the sound set from the last episode. We wildly tweaked all 73 knobs on our drum synthesizer and came up with the sound set we call the _chirping forest kit_.

The sequence was programmed with the sequencer of the mighty DIGITAKT II from ‪@WeAreElektron‬ But there are no external effects. What you hear comes directly from the main outputs of the DRM1 MKIV.

Too squeaky for you or just right? Let us know your opinion in the comments below. If you want to be notified when we post a new video, please subscribe to our channel and hit the bell.

Analogue Synthesiser Melodies | The Art of Production: Olof Dreijer

video upload by Resident Advisor

An interview with Olof Dreijer of The knife.

"Few do melodic electronics like Olof Dreijer.

No matter which part of the Swedish producer's broad catalogue you dip into—from The Knife to Oni Ayhun—you can always make out that knack for resplendent melodies, achieved using vintage analogue synthesisers such as the Oberheim Xpander and the Chroma Polaris.

Envelopes | The Art of Production: Olof Driejer

video upload by Resident Advisor

"Envelopes play an essential role in Olof Dreijer's expressive, synth-heavy sound.

Dreijer demonstrates how he uses envelopes—a cycle of attack, decay, sustain and release—to emulate acoustic instruments. 'I like it when music has a mix of soft envelopes and slow attacks, and then very fast, more percussive things,' he says."
